    Some political tips

Random things y'all might find helpful: 1- Vote early and campaigns will stop sending you political mail. If they don't know that candidate is getting hosed by consultants. 2- Answer every poll you can. Yes they are annoying, but politicians are obsessed with them. Remember, most of them only care about being reelected, so participating in polls allows you to be heard in ways beyond your imagination. 3- Politicians know every single one of their donors. Even a $25 dollar donation, especially to state level politicians will get you instant credit with them. This will allow your voice to be heard if there is an issue you care about. 4- Go to local political meetings if you have an agenda, politicians want to talk to people (so they can "win them over") and these local GOP or DNC meetings matter are a place they can do it. Don't be rude, but go up and shake their hand, say something positive to them, then keep it to one subject you care most about. They'll listen most of the time. If your elected official isn't going to these, that is a red flag. 5- Stop reading news that claims to be "non partisan." There is not such a thing. Find a source that has your world view, and learn how to read past the attempts to control the narrative. Get to the facts yourself, no one else is going to do it for you. 6- Don't post here and then think you can run for office. They will find everything! HTH ~stick

    Ron Paul Campaign Ad #4

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AW08qK0GhHs&feature=youtu.be Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign Releases Newest Ad Highlights Paul’s military service and unrivaled commitment to veterans LAKE JACKSON, Texas– Today, the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential campaign released its latest television ad . The 60-second spot entitled ‘A Veteran’s Best Friend’ highlights Paul’s military service and unrivaled commitment to veterans. “Dr. Paul has a long record in Congress as a strong advocate for veterans and issues important to them, particularly in making sure that they receive recognition for the sacrifices they’ve made in service to our country,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton. The ad is the first in what will be a $1 million television push over the next few weeks. It is scheduled to air nationally on the FOX News Channel during debate coverage and run heavily in New Hampshire, Iowa, Nevada, and South Carolina on broadcast and cable. At this stage in the primary election cycle few other campaigns have the ability to make an ad push of this scale, putting the Paul campaign in elite company. Regarding the campaign’s ad push Benton went on to say: “Our campaign is seeing growing momentum now and is doing this ad blitz to cement ourselves in the top tier. We’ve seen Dr. Paul’s poll numbers steadily increase, with strong showings in recent New Hampshire and Iowapolls, as well as strong head-to-head showings versus President Obama.” As a presidential candidate, Congressman Paul has garnered more donations from active-duty military than all of the other Republican presidential candidates combined, and more than President Obama as well. Paul’s consistent adherence to Constitutional principles regarding American foreign policy, and his calls to bring the troops home in order to defend the country as opposed to spending trillions policing and nation-building in foreign lands has gained him wide support among veterans and active military alike. Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton released an open letter to Gov. Perry focusing on his record as Texas head of state, pointing out inconsistencies with his new Tea Party rhetoric. See text of letter below. Subject: Rick Perry Can’t Handle the Truth An open letter from Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton Dear Governor Perry, After our campaign’s first ad highlighting your Big Government record and support for liberal Al Gore, your campaign is attacking Dr. Paul – missing the point of why your past is important. We don’t think the fact that you used to be a Democrat is the big problem here. The real problem is that, too often, you still act like one. Even you yourself, Governor Perry, said of your party switch, “I will still vote the same principles, only with an R after my name.” That’s the kind of thinking that has our country teetering on the edge of bankruptcy. We cannot afford to nominate someone who thinks the letter next to their name is more important than what they believe. Governor Perry, let me be clear: It is not that you supported Al Gore that worries us. It is that you supported Hillary Clinton’s health care plan. You pushed for federal bailout and stimulus funds. You support welfare for illegal immigrants. You tried to forcibly vaccinate12-year-old girls against sexually transmitted diseases by executive order. You raised taxes twice. And, state debt has more than doubled in your tenure as governor, pushing Texas to the brink of our constitutional debt limit. It’s that you supported ALL of these bad ideas that are inconsistent with how most Republicans understand conservatism, yet you now try to swagger your way into the Tea Party. Governor Perry, with all due respect, you have used great rhetoric. But you will have to answer to the voters of Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and across the country as to why that rhetoric does not match your record. For Liberty, Jesse Benton Campaign Chairman Ron Paul 2012 Press picking it up as well: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2011/sep/7/paul-perrys-not-really-conservative/?utm_source=RSS_Feed&utm_medium=RSS http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0911/62830.html http://caucuses.desmoinesregister.com/2011/09/07/letter-from-ron-paul-campaign-targets-perrys-inconsistencies/
