They kneeled for the National Anthem and stood for the Brit anthem.

Recommended Posts

 at a man who got 4 draft deferments and has a 30-year history of stiffing small businesses and shipping manufacturing and jobs overseas "standing up for the flag" by criticizing the NFL.

I wouldn't expect any less from the guy whose MAGA hats are made in Mexico.

Don't forget disparaged John McCain, a man who has given his entire life to serving his country, for being captured and becoming a POW.

So if your argument is that kneeling for the anthem disrespects the military, but you were silent then...yeah.

So you guys work at a place that plays the national anthem every morning before you start and if you took a knee while this happens every morning they would fire you????

its not about the national anthem. Its about protesting and making it about yourself, at your employers place of business.

I am not about them not standing for the anthem(I think its disrepectful though). I am about them turning what was an entertainment outlet (and one of the few left) into a political stage. I see it everywhere I go, every movie, every tv show. I just want to watch football, and not hear about this crap anymore

yah we should change the country to a democracy. Gimme a break, this has been and will always be a Republic, not a democracy

here let me make it simple for you. Who wins this tennis match

6-0, 6-7,6-7

That analogy makes no sense. A better tennis analogy would be something along the lines of Clinton winning two sets to one, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 but Trump being awarded the match because the umpire is Russian.

To be fair. At least most Giants and Eagles players and Jets Dolphins players showed class unlike the pieces of garbage in the UK game..

then obviously you have no clue whatsoever

if there are 50 states to win, and Trump wins the majority of them he wins

but hey just like the rest of the leftist dribble, keep with that Russia thing

Just asking a question. People said they couldn't do that at their work. I wouldn't be fired for doing what I stated above.

Also I dont care if people stand, sit, or stand on their head. It doesn't change my perspective on things or my opinion. It really only seems to create a debate space for people who get off on political arguments with random strangers on the internet.

I have better to do... like arguing on the internet with strangers about a game grown men play.

It's weird how Trump hated the electoral college, until it helped him win a rigged election. :dunno:

You mean rigged like the DNC?

Weird how an election is only rigged when liberals lose.

The worst candidate lost to the second worst.

Electoral College isn't broken.

There are some aspects that are quirky. Some states allow the delegates to change a vote. Others, the delegates must cast votes to the candidate that won their states election.

EC does one thing rather well. That is to reveal the short comings of a candidate. Gore in 2000. His loss didn't take place so much in Florida. But rather in Tennessee. He lost his home state by 10,000 votes. That says a lot.

16 years later, a similar candidate to Gore, in Hilary Clinton failed to connect even more.

Biggest hope we can have in future elections, is that a major party never again allow a single person to be the presumed nominee before the primary system begins. That is what happened with the DNC in 2016. Where the only challenger for Hillary isn't even a Democrat in Bernie Sanders. (I). Is a chance Bernie may have won the nomination had it not been for Trump.

Polls

True, I no longer find these things to be valid anymore. I do not believe those under 50 participate in these polls.

I did respond to a few, and found most polls to be poorly constucted.

ChinaCat, my point on stating "most Americans" is it is a meaningless assertion. I'd say most american would not vote for Trump in a future election. I can site that on the popular vote side, this did in fact happen already.

I do not see any evidence this won't change in 2020.

But we will know in 2018. In how Republican seek or not support from Trump. Then how this ends in the November elections.

I still contend the RNC should pull his R now. Afterall Trump really isn't a Republican.

Hey

Odell Beckham just got a penalty for crawling like a dog and mocking urinating on the football after a TD. 15 yds unsportsmanlike conduct.

He should have done it on an American flag. The refs, the media and all his scumbag team mates would have rejoiced.

These are the kinds of people you think are standing up for something significant. :nono:

Trump's movement is ideologically bankrupt. He claims people have the right to protest the removal of Confederate statues while shouting racist epithets, Nazi propaganda, and "Blood and Soil" but someone protesting unaccounted killings of unarmed or non violent black men by the police by peacefully kneeling during the national anthem is deserving of the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES calling them sons of b's and telling them they should all be fired.

WE SEE YOU, TRUMP SUPPORTERS. RIGHTS ARE ONLY FOR WHITE PEOPLE.

You are wrong about everything, especially your last statement. But keeping with the subject on this post, keep it out of the NFL workplace.

I lump the owner in with them. This is not a racial criticism on my part. Just because I disagree with a black person does not mean I am racist. I disagree with what they are doing. It's so easy for some people to make everything about race.

Why aren't you lumping Donald Trump in with them? Racist white people look at race-related issues like Americans look at natural disasters and war-torn countries. If it doesn't affect you personally, then you could care less and get defensive when the issue is brought up.

Russia. LMAO. What about poor Bernie. DOn't you feel bad what your party did to him?

Disgusting.

Mobb I truly don't care what Trump likes or doesn't like, I have stated my opinion over and over and I know you have seen it on the Geek Club. But just so its here, I don't support Trump, I am a conservative, and wanted a conservative SCOTUS, I want tighter immigration, therefore I support what has happened in those cases. I think hes a giant idiot fwiw.

as far as the electoral college, I have never not supported the founders of the nation and their system is what I support. I think the electoral college is a stroke of genius, to be able to give the minority a voice rather than the majority

You keep calling me a liberal, even though I've told you several times that I'm not. I just don't blindly support morons, just because they have an R or D next to their name. I'm a registered independent. I don't tow a party line. I elect the most competent and qualified person every election cycle. In 2008 it was McCain, 2012 Obama (the other guy was in a religious cult), and in 2016 it was Clinton. Although I would have voted for Kasich or Bernie over Clinton/Trump. It's a really great way to do things, because I'm able to call a spade and spade, while guys like you are forced to perform mental gymnastics; to make the candidate fit into your backwards ideology every cycle.

Yeah sure. Racist black people are racists just like anyone else who is a racist. So what is your point? This is not a thread to talk about Trump who is not racist. I voted for him and would do it again to keep people like Obama the race baiter and the most crooked political couple participant in forever in Hillary.

It's my right and I am not a racist and you will call me one anyway which is a typical tactic against those who disagree with any part of what a black person says.

Football is an entertainment industry. My opinion is the players keep all this social crap out of it and bring the things up in a different social light. This is the topic here. Not yours or mine political alignment.

You don't even realize that the majority of these guys will kneel for this at work for 60 seconds but put zero effort in when the anthem is over and in their personal daily lives. How heroic of them.

This has to be the worst take on this site in years on any subject ever.

And by the way, all this affects my life and I have never looked the other way. You just accuse blindly.

I know a lot of people who are going to abandon the NFL. Watch and learn. Obviously I'm not going to bail out on a fantasy team I committed to. Or a knockout pool.

But watch the fall out and learn a valuable lesson. One you should have learned already in 2016. But you didn't. Which will happen again in 2020.

You Liberals and MSM junknies think your are the majority. You aren't. And when you piss off the real majority bad ###### will happen. You can only crap on the American people for so long. Now go bake a cake for a gay couple and do your good deed for the day.

It's governmental racial oppression. Why are you trying to separate the two?

Why are they kneeling at games? It's not because they are trying to 'disrespect the NFL' or 'disrespect the flag'. It's because their kneeling is an incredibly effective method, one of the best they have available, of making their message heard.

Here's the thing--I'm an NFL fan. I watch the games. I believe very strongly in the foundational principles of the USA, our Constitution (now that we have all that slavery out of it), and our freedoms. And yet they aren't making me feel insulted, or angry, when they kneel. Because I understand that they aren't kneeling as a way to upset me. They aren't aiming this all at me. And they aren't aiming at the things I think are important--freedom of speech, freedom of religion, etc. Their protest isn't about that. They are protesting government-approved racism and oppression. Which I also oppose.

So why should I be upset if they kneel for a song played about our flag?

Can you please post a few examples of this government-approved racism and oppression? Thanks

I watch the NFL for enjoyment and to escape the political non sense i nour socity. The NFL doesn't just allow wife beaters to play, but for players to discrepct our country as well. For or against Trump, I do believe many people are turned off by the league over the past two years. The ratings have fallen, next it might be the sponsers. They need to clean up their image. The casual fan is more likely to be turned off than us fantasy geeks.

If it wasn't for fantasy, the NFL would be in real trouble. Gamblers don't care about watching the games.

Why is this an insult, or what does this mean?

If an employee of a bakery doesn't want to make you a gay wedding cake they will be shut down and villified and declared a homophobe. If an employee of an NFL team wants to crap all over the American Flag, the Military and Law Enforcement then that is wonderful and everyone who disagrees with them is a racist.
