How are you handling Week 17? Who still has something to play for?
Pariah replied to Lesman's topic in FFToday Board
I'm struggling with what to do with Gronkowski this week. NE has NOTHING to play for, Gronk is key to their championship hopes and has shown a propensity to get injured. I really worry that he'll barely see the field. I picked up Clay and Tim Wright this week so I have options...but I just don't know what to do about the TE spot. Gronk has the highest upside, Wright could go off IF Gronk doesn't play much, but Clay is probably the safest bet. Thoughts? -
PPR League. I need to keep 4 of these 5. What are your thoughts? Spiller R. Bush Ellington Fitzgerald Gordon

Did he get hurt? His stay line hasn't moved since the 1st Q.

The murder/suicide has brought out the propogandists...

Shut up. All of you. Just shut up about this. -
I think he's a buy low, but don't do it if you're counting on him to return to WR1 form--if you can afford to take the gamble, great. If not, look for more of a sure thing. I just traded for him. I gave up Reggie Wayne for Roethlisberger and Nicks (I had was starting Romo and still have AJ Green, A Brown and D. Moore at WR).

It is not the commissioner's job to make sure trades are of fair value. In this case, I would suspect the CJ owner is pissed that his 1st round pick is WAY underperforming and needs a RB. It's a bad trade, but I doubt it's collusion.

Powell might be pretty good, but he's going to suffer from the very same things Wells and Williams suffer from: 1. Crappy QB play 2. Extremely crappy OL play 3. A HC who has a pass-first mentality Powell is a guy that should be owned in most leagues, but may god have mercy on your soul if you need him as a starter.

Maybe to the tune of 100 RuRe and a TD. They won't shut him down, but he's not going to "eat them up," either. But the Cards are pretty stout in the redzone. I think the biggest concern for the Cards next week is Jackson getting behind coverage (Peterson takes a lot of chances and Wilson isn't good in space) and their focus slipping for a play or two and Vick runs for 50 yards a pop while the Cards' defense blinks. JMHO

I'll take P. Hillis generally before other people are thinking about him. Also, I think Peyton Manning is generally more of a value then his ADP (but I draft in Denver, so the value isn't the same).

LaRod Stephens-Howling from Arizona. The Cardinals ST should be nasty this year--LSH on KR, Patrick Peterson on PR and Campbell (and Bethel ®) blocking kicks.

I don't think this is a question of PPR/non-PPR; I think it's a question of your tolerance for risk. Personally, I think Marshal is set to have a monster year (read: top-5 or so numbers). But, I realize that's far from a lock given his history. Green, on the other hand, is probably going to be pretty steady on a week-to-week basis. If you're going to swing for the fences and believe the rest of your roster can insulate you from a few strike outs, I'd take Marshal over Green every day of the week. If you're already gambling quite a bit with guys like McFadden or Vick, and want something you can count on, I'd go with Green. JMHO

I had to veto a trade last night (keeper league)
Pariah replied to cbfalcon's topic in FFToday Board
Not only should you not veto what you perceive to be a lopsided trade, that trade isn't all that lopsided. Let it go through. -
I think Foster falls a little, but not much. With the number one pick I'd probably take AP, but I'd also consider Charles. In a PPR league, Rice has crept into the discussion, too. And, I don't think it's insanity to take Foster still, but it is more of a roll of the dice today than it was yesterday at this time. JMHO

McDaniels is going to throw A LOT. I don't think Amendola is nearly as valuable in a non-PPR league, but just on sheer volume he ought to be worth a #3 spot on your roster, I would think. JMHO

If you're in a PPR he could catch more balls than Ryan Seacrest.
