So what do we do with our dog?

Recommended Posts

The word rescue should give it away. Why not say "I got a dog from the shelter?" Doesn't really ring out or virtue signal, does it?

How do you manage tp get your panties in a bunch over everything?

You have to make stuff up just in order to get bent out of shape about it.

Very odd.

Not trying to be an ass by any means. But fairly easy to realize that a wide mouthed slobbering dumb chewing dog won't be the best mix with small children rolling on the floor. For the fact that young children leave tons of little things on the floor. Sure pacifiers now. After that it would be all the smaller toys they are playing with on the floor. If he didn't swallow the pacifiers he was only going to chew on all their stuff.

My buddy had one who fell down his front steps in the snow and broke his leg. We would take him golfing in the early spring when no one was playing to get him exercise. He couldn't even keep up with us and sat around and ate his own crap. Pretty dumb dogs. Nice hearted dogs. Just dumb and destructive. Hard to train well I would imagine.

Sounds like Edjr on the golf course

Ok, then why are the pounds still full of dogs? Shouldn't they be the ones getting "rescued" before anyone gets a shelter dog? The pound dogs are on the verge of death. The shelter dogs aren't. Doesn't make much sense.

Ever been to your local pound?

I went to ours once. Was thinking about getting a dog.

Its full of psycho pit bulls they found wandering the ghetto or chained in a junkyard. Not exactly the kind of dogs people want to adopt.

Many times, I know. My point here is that the fall back of a shelter and not a pound makes irresponsible people think it's ok to try a dog out and if it doesn't work out you can get out of it guilt free. It's not ok. It's focked up.

You need a new vet.

We took our new puppy to her first vet visit last night and I told her about your situation. She said that type of surgery wouldnt run anywhere near $3K at her place.

She did say emergency vets would likely charge that much.

Shelter by me does amazing work. The wife volunteered there for a bit, we got our Bassett Aussie Shepard mix there. Thanks Hardcore Troubadour for cementing your idiocy on another topic.

Your dog's addicted to painkillers. He knows that all he has to do is eat a pacifier and you'll take him to get his fix.

this is happening too often. i know you care about it but

you need to make a choice:

- find the dog a new home

- learn how to protect your dog (owner education)
