Anyone Want To Talk About FanDuel/DFS?

Recommended Posts

Anyone have success? I've tried the $9.99 NFL and some $2-3 games with very little fortune. Any tips? I tried combining top QB matches with their top WR and didn't do well. (stacking) :dunno:

Also, can someone tell me how you figure out the % of a player being utilized? I read where so-and-so was in 35% of the lineups. ny help with that?

It's a racket. There are people who do it professionally and use sophisticated scripts and data mining techniques to skew the odds in their favor. The "little guy" has no chance in the long run. If you want to give your money away better to just give it to a homeless guy in your 'hood so he can buy drugs.

It's pointless. I only win in my work leagues. I do decent the first few weeks of the season when prices are skewed and I can pick guys to come out of nowhere, but the algorythmers gain more advantage as the seasonal data grows

Unless you have a huge bankroll and use scripts playing daily is no different than buying scratch offs.

It is fun to pick a few lineups and enter a few contests each week though, especially if your season long fantasy teams are in the shitter.

I've never tried it. I've read enough about it to know I'm not willing to put in the amount of work required to succeed at it. But if I did put that work in I would be the most bigly winning dfs player ever.

I roll my work league. I have won 4 out of 10 weeks in one league and 3 out of 10 in another

Three years ago I hit $700 on a $2 tourney in FD,it was one of those Mon-Thurs contest so only four teams to choose from.Since that time absolutely nothing big whatsoever, hell I even threw in a hundy with 49 other guys and we opened an account to play the $25 millionaire maker using all funds weekly and we went bust in about six weeks.I'll never forget checking the profile of the millionaire winner one week and he started Big Ben the week that Landry started and went out after a couple of plays and then Ben comes in for a monster game.Oh and the kicker was that the guy's profile said it was his first time playing.

Don't play anymore, don't trust them at all.

This is similar to my experience.

It got to a point when it really felt like work putting in so many different lineups, hoping one would pay out.

When the fix was eventually exposed, I was out for good.

There is a strategy that I employ and it does work.

Play single entry games only and back up your bet with a single entry double up. More often that not you CAN win in th 50/50 contests and since you cover your risky bet this way your bank roll will last longer.

Oh, and I play hockey. I he number of pros is minuscule compared to NFL.

It's rigged. A few years ago I researched (before they removed that ability) the contests I was entered in and was floored by that the winners of most of those were first time players with only ONE entry. People would say 'it's probably just an alias' but Fanduel didn't allow that at that time. That and no one just enters one entry in and nails the winning lineup.

I do ok in golf. But this year I have lost more than what I won at golf in football.

I do it. I've finished first or second in MLB, NBA, and NFL contests a few times. I play 1 and 2$ single entry games 90% of the time. I'm in 2-3 contest almost daily, depending on game slates.

I play pretty heavy and have had some success, up about 5K over the last 5 years covering all sports

As far as strategy goes you really need a service that offers up weekly projections/optimizers and line up builders.

You need to understand the difference in LU construction for cash vs GPP

Pay attention to Vegas and the Over/Under totals, they will give you a good pool of games to choose players from.

As far as projecting % players will be owned, its all guess work but most pay sights have articles each week predicting ownership and most are pretty good.

I would also suggest reading the FBGs book "Cracking Fanduel", its an excellent read. Im not sure if its free or for pay service but they offer a DFS subscription that cost $35.00 for the entire year that is well worth it if you intend to play with any frequency.

Know your bankroll, you should try to put no more than %15 of your bankroll in play each day.

Put more in $1 and $2 dollar cash games, double ups and 50/50s

Good post.

I enjoy rotogrinders forums for some advice or tips/things I might have missed. They also offer services on lineup building or percent of player usage estimates, projected lineups, Vegas lines with overall projected scoring etc.

MMA DFS is beatable. Lots of bad there. It's possible, quite often, to get 6 favorites in your lineup.

I use multiple sites for info including rotogrinders week to week but really lean on the FBG LU optimizer and the Dailey Fantasy Nerd LU optimizer for NBA and MLB
