Do you draft Bell top 3 if he is still holding out at draft time?

Recommended Posts

I want Bell, but I draft next week. Given the following:

According to the Post-Gazette’s report, Bell was offered a five-year deal that would’ve averaged $12 million per year with $30 million headed his way in the first two years.

That’s essentially the same numbers that Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported one day after the July 17 deadline. The Post-Gazette’s report reveals that Bell appeared to be close to accepting it, although Bell’s agent denied that Friday:

Le'Veon Bell's agent Adisa Bakari said he and client never had any agreement with Steelers. "All stories to contrary are false," he said.

If he doesn't come to an agreement by your draft time, do you devalue him?

Hamstring waiting to happen, no thanks. I'm taking AB at 2 unless he gets some practices in. Theres still time, I feel he should be ready to go.

Yeah, I've been wondering if he is just holding out on offers just not to have to participate in the preseason drills. I've heard ex players say that when you get to a certain point this is a good strategy to keep your body healthy as well as not have to go through all the uninteresting part of football for these guys that don't need it as much..

Bell will be the highest paid RB in the nfl. He wont sit out. He's pissed that they wouldnt give him a long term deal at that kind of money, but I dont blame the team for having their questions. dude has questionable character and is showing signs of possibly being injury prone.

Good question. If I have the 2nd or 3rd pick I won't want to take him but my cajones won't be big enough to pass.

In auctions, I'll let others take him.

yes, he'll play. i believe he is in great condition despite not being in camp. i have a first pick and i am taking DJ, partly because of this, but i'd take bell at 2

It's all I keep thinking every week he misses. He's going to blow a hamstring. Lol.

Is there precedence for hamstring injuries with hold outs? a.j. green didnt hold out last year.

Good video breaking down Bell's running style...12 minutes long but worth it imo

he will blow a hammy, all holdouts for this long do

You better take Conner as a handcuff, this of all years he will not make it 16 games practicing on his own

Yes.

Yes? Who? And what are the percentages? Those that held out and got a hamstring injury vs. those that held out and didnt get hamstrung? Yes based on what information? And was the hamstring injury in the first couple weeks or near the middle or end of the year?

All who got these injuries? Did anyone or multiple players who held out not get hamstring injuries in the first couple weeks? Or did they all get them? Who were these guys?

So intelligent on your part. You have no stats to back up your statement. You just say things based upon nothing.

How do you do it? I Have to know!

Jeez what a jerk reply... You were so absolute in your opinion.

Why not just answer the question? I think he makes a good point actually.

Anyway, I think I'm in on Bell. You can pass on him if you like. The guy has been around for long enough to know his training and approach.

agree, guy makes a statement without facts to back it up, and you ask for some magical study, and he has nothing, then resorts to name calling. Might as well just call you a racist homophobe

more or less, the dude is the guy who wants to draft Leveon, but is likely lacking between the legs, and is scared, so hes going to be that "I told you so guy"

Seriously waiting on intelligent feedback on her part. But I don't think she has any, so she will continue to monitor but avoid this thread is what I think. So funny the ego...

This using "her" and "she" in an attempted derogatory way is both sexist and childish. Smack talk in other ways man, it comes off better.

I'd say at this point there is a 100% chance Bell pulls a hammy now.

And 'AJizzle' is a perfect word to describe your input to anything.

I'd take him but I'm scared.

I'm scared of him underperforming without the reps of camp and being sure he's 'in football shape', but he's been worth the risk most years after his rough rookie year.

He's a rb and wr in one player fantasy-wise.

The holdout makes him scary cuz there IS a history with rb holdouts showing up late and either not playing well, getting a leg-related injury, or some upsetting and unpredictable combo of both. Chris Johnson is a big one I can remember off the top of my head...back in his cj2k days. He held out and fell of a cliff.

But hey...it's 2017. Maybe just maybe guys have figured out how to better replicate camp and preseason. Maybe. And hell...it's not like there's a super obvious alternative to Bell at rb, so Bell and backup it is. Take bell. He'll be on the field to start the season. Probably.

i'm not that worried about it, but let's say something DOES happen. who is the handcuff?

i want to say conner, but the website still lists toussaint and several others still ahead of him.

i guess it's got to be conner long term, right? is he good enough to confidently say that he is the back of the future? there's been alot of buzz out of camp, but that could have partially been to light a fire under bell
