Interesting article. I think I am leaning towards more of a Zero WR approach actually and going in hard at the RB position. With keepers I will have the chance to start Hunt, Fournette, Gordon every week...it just leaves my WR's looking like a bunch of mid tier guys that are 4th round ADP's or later. Can't remember being this close to the draft and not having a specific plan in place.

I'm in a similar position. With keepers I could have Bell, Hunt, grab Gronk (likely over AJ Green/Evans), take Lamar Miller or Royce Freeman, and then grab a few back end high upside WRs like Hogan, Stills, Goodwin, Crowder etc. Taking Gronk or 3 RBs isn't the popular opinion, but I'm just not sold that the back end of WR1's carry less risk than Gronk. Sure he probably misses some games with injuries, but I don't understand how that's any worse than taking a WR that gives you WR3 or less performances 40-50% of the time.

I think this is a pretty strong approach most seasons, especially in any form of PPR league. The idea of the RB cliff this year doesnt seem much more drastic than last years, but I will always be onboard with securing one workhorse RB in the first two picks.

See I actually like the opposite in some mock drafts I've done. Going single wide receiver.

I don't think I'm breaking major news to say that the wide receiver you could get in round 6 & 7 are vastly better than usually the running backs you would get.

In a 10 team standard redraft, we start 2 rb 2 wr and a rb/wr flex. 6 pt pass td, bonus 3 points for a td over 50 yards

I am debating drafting 2 rb right away, and then following that up with Hill, Cooks, and Goodwin. Should be among the league leaders in bonus tds, no? Back when Goodwin's price was a lot cheaper I could get 3 running backs and a tight end before I even thought of taking him. Now he is going in the 5th from what I can see. If it wasn't for bonus tds, I wouldn't consider drafting him there. I am basically trying to decide if having the 3rd rb instead of Goodwin is the right way to go. Non bonus scoring would make me take that 3rd rb for sure (depending on who is there, but most likely one of my targets would be)

I agree with you.

Great post.

I’m going rb rb and maybe even a third for my flex before looking at wr or a te.

Then you need to join my league. I'll take your rigid style of drafting vs. my flexible flow be like water any day of the week. :argue:
