Can Mike Hart be another Maurice Jones Drew ?

take a look at Rutger's Ray Rice if youre looking for the next unsung NFL back. Hart is going to be just another in a long line of middle of the road Michigan RBs that dont do much in the NFL, imo.

    AD Peterson

    on point with the logic.

    AD Peterson

dont hesitate....take Peterson. the division is weaker defensively, his line is much better, and I think long-term he'll have the better career. jmho.

    AD Peterson

the long run looked nice, and clearly shows he's got the goods. bottom line is will he hold up? his nickname is AD, NOT AS....which would be short for 'All Season'. Thats the nickname Id be wanting him to have if I were thinking about drafting him as a RB2 or in the 2nd or 3rd round like Ive been hearing after last night's game. The skills are there. But will the durability be there with that style? He'll be a risk. And one thing any veteran FF drafter will tell you is you don't always win the league in the 1st few rounds of a draft, but you sure can lose it. He's been hurt every year in college, so factor it in.

You all wont believe this....Worth reading

from the sound of it, he should have just made an offer for the notes.....sounds like his buddy would have practically given them to him. gotta respect the 'genius' of needing to steal your buddy's homework, though.

    Matt Leinart

I think he's giving you a top 10 season. Ive gone on record saying Id expect top 5. He was a rookie last year, so Id throw out his bad performances. But he played enough to learn the difference in the speed of the game between college and pro. And he played a few games with Fitz either out or hurt. The biggest problem AZ has had over the last several seasons has been pitiful offensive line play. They brought in two coaches from the Steelers....a team with one of the league's best O lines over the past several seasons. This unit will be amongst the most improved in the league at any position, imo. And I really think Whisenhunt will want to run a more wide open attack then he was able to run while he was in Pittsburgh. But what they dont really have is a field stretcher. Boldin and Fitz are not burners. Edge is probably one of the slower starting RBs in the league. Bryant Johnson as a slot guy is not considered fast. They dont have a Holt/CJohnson/Harrison/Steve Smith type of outside presence to keep teams off the line. So, I dont look for alot of big plays down the field, but I do expect a ton of passing nonetheless. Its always tough for a young QB like Leinart to get any fantasy love until he actually delivers some #s. I like that you stepped outside of the box and took this chance. Youre going to be rewarded bigtime, imo. Id expect 4000 and 25plus scores.

Cadillac Williams, Lamont Jordan, Randy Moss

all 3 players were hurt last year. Moss not so much, but he was dinged up a little. but the QB play as mentioned was awful, and the offensive lines of both teams are terrible. bad Olines usually result in guys either getting hammered and hurt or just plain bad #s. personally, Id take a flier on Moss this year now that he is with a real team, but I wouldnt touch Cadillac or Jordan. There's still just too much uncertainty with both of those situations.

    SD Chargers

The one thing SD does NOT have in common with those other 3 teams is a new coaching staff. The Pats, Steelers and Colts each had a proven, Defensive-minded Head Coach running the show. And their staffs had continuity. I think its a tall order expecting a glorified offensive coordinator like Norv Turner to lead this team to the Superbowl. I dont see it happening. I love the team. They lost 3 games by a total of 9 points last year, including that playoff game which they clearly should have won. Thats impressive stuff. But then you go and fire your Head Coach and lose your entire staff?? Who does that? Thats just bad karma. Having said that, Im gonna flip that coin. Because it HAS been done and fairly recent. Tampa Bay fired Dungy just a few years ago and hired an offensive-minded HC in Gruden and it got them over the top in his 1st year. So THAT precedent is the one which I see as more relevant in this situation here for Chargers fans, not the strange coinicience of last year's win total. The Rams and Patriots of a few Superbowls ago were coming off 4 and 5 win seasons respectively, and it didnt exactly slow them down. So you can throw that meaningless stat out the window. For the record, Im not a SD fan but I had the Chargers winning the Superbowl at the beginning of last season, so I completely agree that this team has a title feel to it. Now that Rivers has a little playoff experience under his belt and a longer leash with which to run this team, I think they may just be ready.

Wonder if Moss will pull this crap in NE

Moss is a guy who needs motivation.....what do some people NOT understand about this? its human nature with alot of humans. we're not all self-driven. many people need help. they need to be pushed. ....they need guidance, leadership, channelling, structure.....call it whatever you want, but Moss obviously falls in this category. Who in the hell is Tom Walsh??? Right....exactly. He's a guy who should have never been any kind of coach for the Oakand Raiders in '06. Moss was probably like most people out there wondering who on earth this guy was and why was he coming out of a 20year retirement to suddenly design plays for an NFL team. Moss didnt respect the guy from the get go, and Im not condoning that, but Im not calling him a POS either. Im just recognizing the reality of the situation. Oakland had the worst offense in the NFL in 40 years, and some nobody from nowhere was the OC.....coincidence? Nah. Everything about that O last year was a POS, not just Moss. But if its structure and leadership and guidance and winning that Moss needs to contribute to a football team, then he's come to the right place. Tom Brady is not Daunte Culpepper. There'll be no idiotic "rolling" after TD passes that just wreaks of having never been there before. There'll be no stupid looks of insecurity from that guy. No league leading fumbling efforts and throwing games away due to small hands or nervousness. Nah. And youre not going to storm over to the sideline after a bad play where maybe you got overlooked and rant and rave and piss and moan and kick and scream about being open and not being seen. You dont do that to Brady......or in other words, someone everyone RESPECTS. Not gonna happen. Not any other receiver and not Moss. Why not? Because everyone has his back, and everyone knows it! So Randy Moss will be fine in New England. Will he post all-world #s? probably not. will he score double digit TDs? without a doubt. will he cry when his team starts losing? he won't get that chance. will he have a problem winning just about every week? not even Randy Moss will have a problem with that.....no matter how many times he touches the ball.

    Randy Moss projections?

he's faster than even OJ! Id heard he was timed 3 times, and they were all under 4.25. this is like the Randy Moss of 1989 when he was like 12! Im telling you, youve got to believe this. he looks like Carl Lewis right now!....seriously. Ill get you a link in a couple of days......wait right here.

    Randy Moss projections?

again differences aside, and of course there are many, the #s dont lie and THEY are not very different. Last I checked Oakland didnt have Donovan McNabb, an All-Pro QB throwing Moss the ball for 2 years while he was there. They had a bunch of scrubs and one of the worst offenses in NFL history. Concern yourself with Moss' motivation, but why? Corey Dillon went to New England and had the greatest single season of his career. Oh right, he's a running back and Moss is a receiver. differences, differences. when you stop to think about it, everything and everyone is different, including our opinions. You honestly think Moss is going to lack motivation playing with Brady and a team that close to the Superbowl? Ill stand on the oppostite side of that fence. Moss is an all-timer, and what he's about to do is cement his legacy as so. He's been largely a knucklehead in many ways to this point, but everyone is capable of change. but keep up the downsizing, and with any luck you can get him in the 4th or 5th round this year.....which seems like a pretty admirable goal. ++ FS, on the speed. I dont know how fast the guy runs now, or how fast he ran coming out, but no doubt he's not quite as fast. Having said that, ask any DB around the league who the fastest receiver in the league is, and most of them tell you Moss still is. I saw a clip of DeAngelo Hall just the other day making that exact statement. bottom line there is the guy's still fast, he still burns by most DBs with the same height and hops he's always had, and playing on turf in New England unlike that heavy sod he was running around on there in Oakland. throw in the Brady factor, and this is going to be another landmark year for Moss. By the way, Im likin' those Niners this year.

    Randy Moss projections?

Who else are you going to compare Moss to? Are you really debating whether or not TO is the closest basis of comparison to Moss? Im talking #s here, and if you like we could throw Marvin into the conversation, but he hasnt moved around to 2 other teams, nor does he have attitude/issues. I guarantee you the only other WR each of these 2 would even consider comparing themselves to would be Harrison. But with that said, they both probably view themselves as basically without comparison. Clearly Moss and TO are the MOST comparable, as is the bottom line....their #s. TO has played one more season than Moss, and his #s reflect that. To this point...... TO : 158 games 801 catches 11715yds 14.6yd/ 114TDs Moss: 138 games 676 catches 10700yds 15.8yd/ 101TDs Moss is roughly one statistical season away from basically identical #s to TO. Their games arent really that comparable, nor their work ethic, nor their personalities, nor Im sure many other things, but their #s are all that Im really concerned with here. Moss is over 3 years younger than TO, and playing with a far better QB than TO dealt with last year, so the least I could expect of him would be similar #s to what Owens delivered last year. Im not questioning TO's work ethic here or comparing it to Moss'. Just keeping the #s simple, but I get your point.

    Randy Moss projections?

so who's the guy most comparable to Randy Moss? TO. TO played in his 11th season last year, for a new team, with 2 new QBs, with damaged fingers, and no training camp prep, with 'suicidal tendencies', in a huge pressure cooker, for a winning team, under the limelight and for a Head Coach who had, thru last season only ever had ONE SINGLE WR ever catch 10 TDs in a season. It was the typical love-hate TO pre-season FF forecast. The guy played with his typical TO attitude, dropped passes every week, WITHOUT 4.3 speed and WITHOUT Tom Brady........and STILL had 85 catches, nearly 1200 yds and 13TDs! Moss with will play next year with the golden boy and do similar things. think otherwise if you choose.
