The only question I have to ask is why are they putting him in at guard?

the guy has a ton of talent, power, agility. you would think he'd be playing one of the tackle positions. That's what they drafted him for isnt it?

Rookie tackles have been having a hard time adjusting to the game lately. Often, if the team has any other options at tackle, a rookie will be kicked into guard for a year or two.

Fair enough.

I figured if you were in the conversation to go #1 overall, that Tackle would be the place to begin for him.

It's also very, very early. I'm sure he'll line up at all the spots on the OL at some time during early practice.

Rookie tackles struggled badly last season, and with the exception of Rob Havenstein of the Rams all were graded very poorly by PFF. In fact, many of the guards suffered the same fate. I pointed this out on many occasions to fellow Raider fans, as our fourth round pick Jon Feliciano of the U graded out in the mid 70's in his low volume of work late last season. He was actually one of the higher rated guards, behind only Brandon Scherrf, who went fifth overall.

But I digress. Wondering if the trend continues this season.
