Who are the swiftest players in the nfl today?

Recommended Posts

CJ2K, Ginn, and Mike (60 minutes) Wallace are all getting on in age, but in their prime they each ran sub 4.3 40 yard dashes,

With the those guys getting older, who is the swiftest now?

Tough to say, I heard Breshad Perriman is a real burner, same with Kevin White, both we have not seen play. John Brown, Cooks are really fast. Then there are guys who are blazing but aren't really noteworthy like Dri Archer.

A Brown seems like they have a hard time getting hold of him .

Don't you mean swiftiest?

My votes are for:

J. Peterman

Julio Beckham Jr.

David Johnston

Tony Brown

The fastest player, still on a team and currently still in his prime, is likely Marquise Goodwin of Buffalo. Dri Archer who used to be with Pittsburgh had a faster 40 time, and as a Steelers fan I can assure you he ran faster into the arms of defenders on kickoffs than anybody I've ever seen.

Brown is super fast.

I dont know what his 40 time is, but I am pretty sure he has elite speed.

More quick I would think for AB. A lot of the straight line guys are junk when they get to the pros.

Brown is 4.47. Not insane by Amy means, if we are talking straight line.

yeah, but you rarely run a straight line on a football field.

some players play a whole lot faster than their timed speeds. He is one of those guys.

Does anyone have an argument that Antonion Brown is not the swiftest player in the NFL today?? AB has the best release and knows how to use his hands early in the first few yards. The swiftest player knows how to get seperation and then be swift.

Hard to say, guys lose a step. I'd venture to say Chris Johnson isn't the speed burner he once was.

For Oakland, Slats Murray had a 4.37 forty time at his pro day. For a 6-3 225 lb dude that is moving pretty fast. During draft coverage two years ago the NFL Network computer imaged the forty runs of Kevin White, Davante Parker, and Amari Cooper together with Coop winning that race. His recorded forty time is 4.42, which again is not bad for a kid of his size.

Swift is an interesting adjective. I think of guys that are quick more so than straight line speed. Seems Julian Edelman has made a living with his quickness. I'd also list Danny Woodhead is fairly quick.

Honorable mention might got to guys like Tavon Austin, Desean Jackson, and maybe Ameer Abdullah.

Ok define swift. There are a ton of variables when considering how "swift" someone is. In regards to AB, he is definitely not as speedy or as quick as some other receivers. This is not taking away from how good he is. He's just not as athletically freakish as other guys in the league.

Dri Archer is the closest thing to Deangelo Montgomery.

At least someone remembers the greatest thread ever!!!

Swift is defined as "happening quickly or promptly."

By that definition, I would nominate Dion Lewis.

That cat is swift.

I've no idea what his measurement speed is.. But his "football" speed has to be among the tops in the league... Cuz every time I look up Desean Jackson is 5 yards past his defender.

3:58 is your proof.

The kickoff at 1:45...when he hits the 20yd line, he almost just flies to the 40 in a second.

DJax. When he catches the ball and it's a foot race he looks like he's not even trying to run fast. And the defenders pretty much don't bother trying to catch him. It's over.
