shredhead 21 Posted November 1, 2017 https://www.milehighreport.com/2017/11/1/16591664/brock-osweiler-named-starter-against-eagles What do you all think? Not the long term answer in Denver I wouldn't think. Denver has bigger problems than QB, mainly the O-line, but I am very curious to see how a man that was forced to eat some humble pie reacts. I think it's more of a reflection on Siemian. He cannot get the ball deep downfield, defenses recognize this and this takes takes away the effectiveness of whatever ground game they want to have. I'm not sure Brock will be much better. His accuracy is poor. Siemian was at least accurate on short balls. I think this is a one or two game stop-gap until lynch has a few more practice reps and they are comfortable with him starting.

brotherbock 349 Posted November 2, 2017 Maybe he'll do better in Denver...because it's high up...and...he's...tall...nope, I can't spin it. My question is what it'll do to the running game. I have Booker on my bench, had a good game last week, seemed like the goalline and passing guy, and Charles fumbled. Might be an arrow up for Booker a bit. That's the only interest I have there. Charles' fumble was more of a good play by the Chefs D than a bad play by Charles. Denver has given Charles less than 10 touches in each of the last 3 games, all losses. I think they need to get that number up to 15-18. What are ya saving him for? He's on a 1 year contract, run him till the wheels fall off. I feel Denver is misusing his talents and as a fan it's frustrating. I think Brent Goldschlager will actually help the Denver running game.First off, he's tall.....oh nvm, that's not what I was going to say. He can throw the ball more than 20 yards down field, that should open things up a little. I think defenses will have to respect his ability to get the ball down field a lot more than they had to with check down Siemian. Team stacked the box against Denver because they knew Siemain wouldn't throw it more than 10-15 yards. I'm not expecting Goldschlager to be a world beater, but he can't be much worse. Denver has hit pretty darn close to rock bottom offensively.
weepaws 2,459 Posted November 2, 2017 No, but he can be just as bad.

At least while I have him I dunno though, Brock is horribly inaccurate. If I'm a linebacker and he launches the ball over my head, I'm possibly going to start preparing to block for my DB who's likely going to be returning an INT in the next couple of seconds. So yeah, he gets the ball downfield, but are teams going to think they need to keep two safeties back all the time?

weepaws 2,459 Posted November 2, 2017 Easily the Eagles. M Jags have a very good def, but the Benglas do have talent. The Broncos ewwww. Eagles.
Kent 228 Posted November 2, 2017 He was the worst QB I've seen this year. Every throw off his back foot or just kind of guided. I knew he would get demoted after the game. It was obvious. He's awful.

TennisMenace 156 Posted November 4, 2017 So do you start Phili DST againt Denver, or Jacksonville DST against Cinci? Both seem like dream matchups. Brock doesn’t make me change my mind. Dalton is better than Brock and I believe Cinci OL is better than Denver although both are wanting. And like I said, you can run against Jax so it seems to me Cinci will not try to pass much to keep from getting turnovers. I believe they think their defense can keep them in the game so if they don’t turn the ball over, maybe they can win an ugly 16-13 game. My pick is still Philly defense. Denver won’t run and I don’t care who is throwing....Simien or Brock......
huskyhater75 242 Posted November 4, 2017 I picked Ostweiler up for week 10-Carr on a bye, Watson gone.....................that's where my team has gone to, Brock Ostweiler-but he IS playing against NE week 10! They'll HAVE to throw and NE isn't exactly the toughest pass defense. I'm trying to make myself feel good about it.......................
weepaws 2,459 Posted November 4, 2017 They seem to be getting better. They held both M Ryan and Rivers to under 235 passing yards in back to back games.
Ray_T 590 Posted November 4, 2017 I dont see much of a difference in the way of results. Sieman couldnt throw deep, and once teams realized this, the pass game became a lot tougher for him. Osweiler has the same issue (more or less). he may have some short term success as his style is a bit different, but teams will adjust quickly. I predict 3 or 4 average to good games for Osweiler and then it will tighten up and he wont be able to adapt to the way teams are defending him.

Looks like teams adapted a lot more quickly than I predicted. Paxton Lynch is at least a couple games away from being able to start, I think you can stick a fork in Denver's Season. They are finished.
