Look at this list of top 100 musical groups

27. Lynyrd Skynyrd

Jacksonville, Florida? Really?

So we had a 1/50 shot that the song would have been called Sweet Home Michigan instead? D@mn.

It's a pretty good list.

Can argue about who goes where. Who's too high or too low.

What I rally like is that, unlike certain Hall of Fames I could mention, whoever put this list together at least knows what rock music is. (I can choke down the punk rock groups).

I appreciate that some people can't stand Geddy's voice, but even a Rush hater has to admire their longevity and talent. At least in comparison to focking Nickleback at the very least.

Eh ... I give the 90s and later bands a pass. I don't know what's going on with them. Same with punk.

If I had made the list there would be neither on it and even I know that's just not right or fair.

What makes me happy is what was left off. I don't look or care who the Rock and Roll "Hall of Fame" ;)  nominates and inducts anymore. I use to participate in those threads cursing every year. Now I just gave up. I don't even open them. It's beyond pathetic.

They have one song I like. Thats it.

They actually played a show in my city here in china last month. I didnt bother to go. That tells you how insignificant they are to me.

The list starts with the British invasion apparently. Even Elvis fails to appear. Including earlier acts also could have scored some nice, entirely merit based racial diversity too, not affirmative craption nor rap/pop/disco disguised as rock.

Also 80s bands are shortchanged. The bias against 'hair bands" always pisses me off.

You may not like Geddys voice and I get that, but as far as talent is concerned, there are very few of their equal.

Put that in your Red Barchetta and smoke it :bandana:

wow we should send them our lists

This could be a great draft idea.

Rock bands

No genre or decade. Just get however many people want to go and pick 100-150 bands. And no voting at the end, go get who you like nzoner would.

something like 12 vote for 2 based off their list our list would be top 12 they have and as 2 move on we add 2 more.

Some terrible sh!t on that list. Others way too focking high.

This. The Who, Police, Rush way too low. Several more contemporary bands way too high (Marroon 5 is ridiculous at 14.) And some random that aint rock (ABBA?).

I'm guessing when you see a list like this and realize you can't name 1 song of the band at #12, you've officially become old.

I'm not a big U2 fan. As a matter of fact, I think they are douches. But that ranking is a joke. 8 at least.
