Any bass fishing members here?

Recommended Posts

How's it going this spring. Pre spawn in full swing here in Indiana. Starting to hit some local USABassin tournaments every couple of weeks. What's working for everyone.

Don't do tournaments but literally just got off the lake from fishing. But using worms for now.

I like fishing small mouth over wing dams with Pop-R's. I love the action when they hit.

Tubes, spinners, whopper ploppers, double tailed grubs, mostly in green pumpkin with black flake.

Most of my fishing is in tidal river

In 3-6' of water. Mostly visible cover of laydown trees, boat docks, lilly pads.

white/chartruse spinnerbait w/ gold Colorado blade

6" blue w/ firetail Texas rigged worm

Most small-ish crankbaits

If you're an animal you want to have a beaver as a friend; they have some kickass houses. That ###### is on the lake. Lakeside my ass; Lake-On.

Haven't had a chance to do much top water due to some windy, choppy days with muddy water to boot. Biggest so far has been a 5lb large mouth on a black/blue chatterbait.

The water is still to damn cold in my area. It's trout season for me.

Beginning of April is Shad. Mid April through May for trout. Then June through August is Bass, Pickerel, and Perch. Is kind of the cycle I end up going through.

Have not been bass fishing in a while. Usually only when I visit WIsconsin in the summers.

Id like to get into it a bit more again...just not interested in buying a boat...and have enjoyed wading in the river to fish for Trout much more lately.

I fished club tournaments in Central FL for about five years, but finally retired when gas prices climbed over $4.00 a gallon. To stay in the top of the standings, we'd have to pre-fish which doubled the time and expenses. But it was fun. Everyone enjoys catching a big fish, but landing a monster bass during a tournament is exhilarating. And it forced me to fish lakes I never would have otherwise... I've fished Okeechobee several times along with every other major lake in FL.

Nowadays I mostly saltwater fish... Snook and redfish are the main targets. On Saturday I fished the Mosquito Lagoon and caught reds and big trout. All on top water lures. Good times.

Nah. It's when you take a handful of chum, close your hand like you're making a fish, stick it in a catfish hole, when he bites down you shove it up his mouth and pull him out. Cat fisting
