The related Jarawa tribe, which stopped resisting contact with outsiders in 1998, offers a cautionary tale, the group reports.

"They are now plagued by intruders on their land stealing the animals they hunt, bringing in alcohol and sexually exploiting Jarawa women," according to a 2006 report.

Exploiting? Or just sharing?

Screw trying to introduce them to Jesus. I'd have shown up with smoke bombs and a Polaroid and convinced them I was God. Years from now they'd still be waiting for the second coming of fandandy.

I didnt know til I read about it. Its illegal to do within a few miles of the island - the natives killed a couple fisherman 10 years ago. Dude got hit with arrows on the first trip so he went back 2 more times and they killed him.

They dont want Jesus my man. Take a hint.

Nope he went back after getting arrow injuries on his first try. Then, the dude canoed in from a bigger boat of guys that said a little later they saw the natives dragging his dead body around.

Yea i knew it was illegal to go there. I read where the fishermen he paid to take him there are gonna get charged too. God gave the guy 2 chances not to mess with the tribe. Guy didnt wanna listen to God. Only to his ego. And it got him killed. Darwinism at its finest

Dooshbag. He could have killed the entire tribe. They have no exposure to diseases our bodies have built up defenses to. A common cold or flu could wipe them all out.

Nice that HIS parents have "forgiven" the people who killed him for repeated trespassing though.

He had every right to seek sanctuary there. The tribe should have taken him in, fed and sheltered him, and let them live off of their system.

Where are my lefty brothers! Aren't you outraged?

Maybe the US should arm border patrol with bow and arrow. Then call for open season on intruders.

Now that's how you protect your borders. You don't open your arms to their diseases and crazy ideas, you kill them. Great job

So nobody thinks the Sentinelese should be held accountable for his death? What value does the world derive from maintaining a barbaric primitive culture?

Don't get me wrong, I think the missionary should have left them alone. But why should this small, isolated tribe be allowed to murder in defense of their turf?

I think we should be doing the same thing on the Mexican border. For real.

Only if this non-threatening caravan full of women and children that is months away start to throw peace rocks and start harmony fires at the border. Otherwise we should not harm them.

No Ive been wondering that too. It seems no one cares though. But a woman trying to climb over the barricade at the border impales herself when she falls? Oh man they come out of the wood work for that

I think of this island as their property and the missionary was trespassing repeatedly.

Maybe it was his manifest destiny, maybe he was seeking asylum or something and not one of the places he visited prior to this island was going to work for his "asylum".
