Other than Thomas and Graham - is there a better TE to own right now than GATES

Gates after 8 games is on pace for 65 catches 800 yards AND 18 TD's. For the first time in like 3 years seems healthy ... not as fast but in good shape. Rivers has tunnel vision for him from the 10 yard line in and on big 3rd downs. I picked him up on Waivers week one and not sure I would trade him for anyone other than Graham or Thomas right now.

He's always played top shelf TE over his long career but Green scared the heck out of everybody considering him in the preseason so he fell and fell. Now, I drafted Gates in 12Geeks and I'd like to tell you it's because I was clever and saw something everybody else missed. The truth is I was cursing when Clay went just before my pick but because I needed a TE2 I settled for Gates instead hoping there'd still be gas in his tank again this year.

 

I dunno, he doesn't have the legs he use to, but he's still smart and still has great hands.

 

Easily my best pick despite being one of my least favorites at the time.

Olsen has been solid and consistent all year. Gates has some huge games and then some very quiet games. Gates may be the MVP of blowing away his adp though?!
