Anyone use VOIP instead of landline?

I recently got cable internet, it's not fast but close to 30 mbps which is the highest speed available for me. I am currently paying close to $200/month for 2 separate landlines. I'm looking into possibly Vonage and wonder if anyone has experience with them or another VOIP.

 

Preferably someone using it for a business but any opinions or experiences would be appreciated.

I've had Vonage for about 12 years. Works great. Use it for home but also for work when I work from home.

Assuming you have a cellphone to call 911 in the event of an emergency (and no internet service)

From my understanding even the landlines are VoIP now. Remember how you could place a call with the power out as a kid, try to do that now.
