AP is a child abuser

Recommended Posts

More women are beaten by their significant other on Sundays during the football season when their team loses or they lose bets on games than any other day of the year. There are more fans than players so it makes perfect sense.

The number of fans vs players is irrelevant to the RATE of abuse. I find it hard to believe that the rate is higher for the general population.

Really? When an NFL player gets arrested for anything it's all over the news. You ever watch COPS? You see the kind of people who get arrested for DV? The majority of players in the NFL have a high school diploma and somewhat of an higher education. It's not hard to believe to me. I live in the south. We all beat our wives and shoot or dogs after a loss.

If NFL losses are fueling domestic violence, one must also consider what % of the population are NFL fans…but those stats do nothing to ease the pain of women in Oakland, Cleveland and Detroit :(

I think this sums up the NFL right now.

hide your bounty? :dunno:

Saints players allegedly earned bonuses for inflicting injuries on opposing players that forced them to leave games; however, none of the hits in question were ever penalized or deemed illegal by in-game officials.

oohhhhh....

Millionare football players putting twenty dollars in a jar to win the bounty if they get a big hit is what the accusation was . If you believe that, than you don't know the game of football. The whole bounty gate scandal was complete BS. Goodell didn't like Paytons arrogance after the Super Bowl, and the looming concussion scandal and lawsuits being filled by former players. Payton was nothing more than a scapegoat for Goodell.

So the audio everyone heard of Greg Williams telling his players to blow out Crabtree's ACL was nothing?

Million dollar football scouting operations putting cameras outside the designated "you can put cameras here" spots is what the accusation was. If you believe that the whole league didn't do it, than (sic) you don't know the game of football. The whole spy gate scandal was complete BS. Goodell didn't like Belichicks arrogance after the MULTIPLE Super Bowls, and the looming "Patriots hit too hard and hurt our WRs" scandals, rules changes, and crying by Bill Polian, Peyton Manning and Marshall Faulk. Belichick was nothing more than a example for Goodell to stop typical defensive practices in the NFL and allow video-game offenses to rule.

I disagree. When the Ray Rice video came out and questions arose about the NFL possibly burying evidence, I thought of Spygate. They destroyed those tapes. Really? Why would you do that if there weren't something incredibly damning in them? :dunno:

Because they were trying to put the whole thing in the rear-view as quickly as possible.

Belichick got a two game suspension, a hefty fine, and Goodell destroyed the evidence. Payton was fined 7 million dollars, lost a first round draft pick (the Saints didn't have 2nd rounder that year due to a trade the previous year), ordered to not contact anyone associated with the NFL (couldn't even call Brees and congratulate him when his son was born) and told Payton never talk or mention it to the press ever. Goodell didn't just fawk Payton over. He fawked the entire organization and more importantly, the fans.

Did you notice that none of the players who were accused of hurting other players were never flagged on the field or fined off the field? And all players accused after the facts were presented had their bullsh!t suspensions voided? Or of the forty thousand supposed pages of evidence Goodell had on the case, only a few pages were ever presented to the public? You think Goodell would have fined Jerry Jones 7 million dollars and told him to stay away from the NFL for an entire year?

Needed a scape goat for the concussion issues at the time. Used Payton as an example that he was being proactive and also used the sports media as a tool to take the spotlight off of him.

Do you think he would have suspended Jerry Jones like hid Payton?

If there was a known bounty and they had audio of coach saying to hurt a particular player, then have warnings to the head coach, no, he would have not suspended Jerry jones, but garret would be out on his ass

just want to make sure we don't lose sight of this even though one time some player got paid extra to tackle harder and some coaches got paid extra to spend extra effort on videos.

Looks a lot like how you discuss the sport.

Look at any Goodell/NFL thread out there on several sites...most are full of Saints fans crying about Payton and Goodell's punishment.

You cry more than Pats fans.

Yeah, it's crying. As a fan that shells out a lot of money every year on season tickets and many other Saints related things, I should just take in the ass when the commissioner over steps his authority and punishes not just the coach but the the fans also.

Tell your coach and team not to act like focking morons and get caught.

He didn't over step his authority at all though...

Saints fans don't understand, i don't know where it comes from, maybe because they're pretty young as a franchise, I don't know

I get the frustration coming off of a SB and having that prime year taken in a way...but to completely excuse the staff over it is laughable.

What happend to the Saints would have never happend to a big market team. To say that is false us ignorant on so many levels. I was taught to hit and hurt in football before I got to middle school. You must have played in the pink Possay league.

Before the Bounty Gate scandal, ESPN did a jacked up segment which showed the best hits of the week. Did you notice they eliminated that segment during the Bounty Gate scandal? Why the fawk is that?

Young franchise? Are you for real?

BS. If that had happened to the Cowboys the same thing would have happened. The coach would have been gone for a year...players and defensive coaches would have gotten in trouble.

Not only did they fock up...they focked up and had it caught on tape too.

Quit focking crying. Your boys were not innocent in anything, they got caught, and punished.

That woul have happened to any team.

You don't see the big hits segment because the league is under pressure for a major lawsuit from ex-players families for injuries sustained while playing.

Saints have been around since the 60s, which is an infant in league terms. You don't understand how the league works.

Peyton got screwed! Waaaaaah!

Not one player was fined or suspended for any illegal hit that year. Payton was the scape goat for the league.

It wouldn't have happend to any team. If you think Jerry Jones wouldn't have received the same punishment if he was accused of the same thing, your delusional and don't understand how the league operates. There's no way a big market team would have that BS.
