Darren McFadden

Recommended Posts

Anything is possible in this pursuit of ours.

However, the best way I know to lose money is to bet on McFadden staying healthy.

Waiting for McFadden to emerge is like Linus waiting for the Great Pumpkin on Halloween. :ninja:

But one never knows.....

Low risk, high reward. If he gets hurt just cut his azz.

I picked him up in the last round, 15, last night. It was either him or Matt Jones. I still am keeping my eye on Matt.

Rotoworld:

Darren McFadden - RB - Cowboys

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett and executive VP Stephen Jones both "admit they have not yet decided who will start" at running back in Week 1 against the Giants.

Joseph Randle is listed No. 1 on the Dallas depth chart, but that is subject to change. Jones said Tuesday that the starter "will likely be decided in practice this week." Most signs point toward Randle getting the first crack, but there seems to be a sense at Cowboys headquarters that Darren McFadden is the team's best all-around back. Lance Dunbar "has a clearly defined role as the team's third-down back." Even in a plum matchup versus a weak Giants run defense, Cowboys running backs are going to be dicey fantasy investments. "Obviously, last year, we did it with one back," Jones said, referring to DeMarco Murray. "This year, I see a lot of people contributing to our success."

Only found one source that states Mcfadden is starting week one..footballguys.com. may have to roll with Alfred Blue until Bell returns for me in week 3. I dont like rolling the dice in week one.

If it holds up - will not really be all that surprising...I've been saying all along that the talk coming out of practice everyday is that DMC was the better looking back... I'm also certain part of it has to do with the lack of trust in Randle to pass protect.

well, I dont think it matters who is named the starter.

Dallas is famous for having one player named the starter and having someone else get all the carries.

this happened with Marion Barber for a long time before they finally named him the starter.

unfortunately, being named the starter is only a guarantee that you will get some carries. My thought is that he likely leads a committee, but Dallas may pound the rock with him and give him a full workload.

bottom line is we really dont know.

I dont know that I'd start him at this point. I suppose if you had nobody else, then roll the dice, or if you are playing a game you are likely to lose anyways, take a chance. He could put up a huge game if they give him a heavy workload.

I just wouldnt want to bet on it.

I own McFadden, and i think the Dallas RB situation will be a week by week head scratcher... I fully expect them to ride the hot hand 'in game' so your guess is as good as mine to see who that is. I also think if McFadden emerges as 'the guy' they will spell him frequently because of his injury history (and maybe even because of his incentives). I think McFadden and Dunbar are your best lottery ticket bets (just because of price)... assuming injury. I think CMIKE is getting a lot of hype, but will play himself off of the field... fumbles + inability to protect the franchise QB are huge red flags

If McFadden starts, then that is actually good news for Randle owners.

(you know why)

I think CMike will play himself right onto the field and into the starting line up. It's just a matter of time before his talent wins out, and the Boys will play the talent. I'm not sure they've even completely ruled him out for Week 1.

Dallas Cowboys RB Christine Michael was acquired as a backup plan due to RB Darren McFadden's injury history and RB Joseph Randle's inexperience, according to sources.

I hope McFadden shocks the world and remains healthy behind this massive OL and runs for 1500 yards. This will be the best 15 th round draft choice I ever picked up.

This is going to be interesting. I don't think you can play any Cowboys backs in the first game until you see how it shakes out. It could be an absolute RBBC mess. It could also be a place where one of the backs takes control and looks good in the first 5 games against a soft run schedule. I also think the C-Mike is a sign that they are not happy where they are at this point. He is a fumble/injury/missed block from moving up the depth chart and being given a chance to take the spot.

Lol... what else are they going to say? Then if the knucklehead doesn't work out they can say, "we just added him for depth..." NONE of the $1.5 million over the next two years on his deal is guaranteed.

BUT, if the light does come on they've stolen an RB which can put them back in the NFC hunt. Dallas has a very impactful support system around this team. They didn't bat an eye at signing Greg Hardy. Or Gregory. The functional issues with Michael are almost all located between his ears. I think they should just give him the ball and see what he does. His talent will push McFragile and the Underwear Dude to the sidelines eventually, as it will be difficult to keep his potential off the field.

An argument could be made that McFadden is the more talented back, with better measureables... McFadden's knock is that he can't stay healthy... We are in agreement about randle though

This is just my opinion:

McFadden has emerged as "the guy" in Dallas during camp/preseason and the team plans on running him into the ground. This is the reason why they brought CMike in, if/when RDMC breaks down they will have another horse in the stable. Again, just my opinion, as I am RDMC owner in most of my leagues.

As local beat writer here Mike Fisher just commented:

(paraphrasing) Since May 2nd - Randle has been the main guy. He was the main guy in practice last week, he was the main guy in practice today - he's going to be the main guy... Least till he fumbles 3 times or gets Romo killed.
