    Pick-up Harvin in a keeper?

Thanks for answering mine! I'd do this, sure. It sounds like you've got a deep enough bench (6 slots) to burn a spot for a while, and worst case scenario (you have a lot of injuries or guys that don't pan out), you can drop Harvin and pick someone else up. All you've really got to lose is a late-round pick, which probably isn't going to net you anyone great anyway. Might as well try for a lottery ticket and see if he can help you late in the season or next year.

    Keeper Konundrum

I'd keep the running backs. Since your league can only keep 1 player per team from the first 3 rounds, I'd guess that the stud running backs all get kept, and there will be plenty of QBs available in the draft.
  3. My longtime league has finally decided to go keeper, and I could use some help! 12-team standard scoring (no PPR), the only wrinkle being we play IDP, but I'm not keeping any defensive players. We keep three and lose your pick in the round you took them in last year. Free agents count as a last-round pick. Here are my possible keepers/rounds: Ray Rice (1) Julio Jones (2) Victor Cruz (3) Reggie Bush (5) David Wilson (10) Danny Amendola (15) Colin Kaepernick (FA) Basically, I think I have to keep Rice and Bush because it's easier to replace the WRs in the draft. But I'm stuck on my third keeper. Wilson in the 10th has a lot of upside. But getting a top-10 QB in the last round of the draft is tough to pass up. What do you think?

Oakland sweeps division but won't go to playoffs

This is the key. The Raiders blew several winnable games against inferior opponents. Their record in the division has nothing to do with it. On the other hand, the Raiders did finish with non-losing record for the first time since Al Davis died, so they've got that going for them.

Did Rothlisberger back you into a corner in the bathroom or something? No. 5? Seriously? I'd rather have any of your 6-10 picks over him.

Looking Ahead to FF Redrafts: 2011

My thoughts exactly on Nicks. I targeted him as my WR2 this year, and got him in the 5th round. He produced ridiculous value relative to his draft position -- probably my best pick of the draft. But I'm not sure I'd feel good about taking him as my WR1 in the 2nd round next year for a lot of the reasons you mention. I think he'll be overvalued, and I probably won't be targeting him. As for Vick, I understand why people are so high on him, and if people want to take him No. 1 overall, more power to them. Especially if they take him No. 1 in any draft where I'm sitting with the 5th or 6th pick. Gives me a better shot at Charles (who, I think, needs to move ahead of Turner on the OP's list). I wouldn't think about taking him unless he fell to me in the late first/early second, and I'd still likely pass on him depending on who else was on the board at the time.

Preferred QB TDpass scoring 4 or 6

My long-time league switched from 4 to 6 a few years ago, and I really haven't noticed much of a difference. Sure, your QB scores more points every week, but every QB scores more points, and you still can only play one, vs. the 3-4 RBs and 3-4 WRs you have to play every week (we have to start 2 RBs and 2 WRs, plus 3 Flex spots). So it only changes the value of the QB position slightly relative to other positions. In the draft, the 6-point rules does bump the elite QBs up a little higher -- I don't think anyone in my league ever drafted a QB in the first round before we made the change -- but overall, it really hasn't changed the game much, other than everyone's weekly scores are higher.

Stupid Yahoo allowing Webb as a WR in Championship game!

So what we've learned is that playing a guy at WR -- who qualifies by the rules of the Web site in question as a WR -- is not only "cheating", but a sin against God and Man. Probably a little higher than gluttony or coveting your neighbor's ass on the big list, but slightly below adultery.

    Kyle Orton 2011

The Redskins will need a QB. Maybe they can swap McNabb for Orton

Well - did you fockers win or what?

Won by 26. Final roster (championship starters in bold): QB: Orton, Collins, Grossman RB: AP, Hillis, Benson, Torain, Gerhart WR: White, Nicks, Maclin, Britt, Knox TE: Graham, McMichael K: Janikowski D: Mikell, Spikes, Doughty, Bishop, Finnegan, Pouha

    Championship Controversy

I don't even understand why this is a controversy. If I had screwed up my lineup for the championship game, I would be kicking myself for being an idiot, not whining to the commissioner. I might be able to understand it if this was Week 1 and your league was using a new website or something, but he's been setting lineups on Yahoo! all freaking season. As a good friend of mine always says, "It pays to be smarter than the tools you work with." If you file your taxes online, and forget to hit "send," does the IRS give you credit for thinking about it? Not so much. Tell him to start drinking after he's set his lineup next time.

Feel like I got cheated or learned a lesson..

Nice numbers, and I see what you're saying, but you're not taking into account the roster factor. Thing is, most leagues require you to start at least 2 RBs and 2 WRs, plus some combination of WR/RB Flex spots every week. While most leagues only require you to start 1 QB with no QB option at flex. Obviously, some leagues are different, but in standard formats, you have to have at least 3-4 starter-quality WRs and 2-3 starter-quality RBs on your roster just to compete. And you only need 1 starter-quality QB. Point being, there are more likely to be serviceable QBs later in the draft -- the Josh Freemans of the world. Just because teams don't need to draft multiple QBs. That's why it generally makes sense to load up on RBs and WRs early, but it's certainly not a hard-and-fast rule if Rodgers somehow falls in your lap at the 11th pick or whatever.

    Championship Thread

Kyle Orton and Peyton Hillis, two waiver picks that kept me competitive all season. They tailed off at the end of the year, but I wouldn't be in the championship game if it wasn't for them.

Feel like I got cheated or learned a lesson..

My league gives 6 pts. for pass TDs, and I still never draft a QB before the 5th or 6th round -- after I at least have 2 starting RBs and two starting WRs. I'm about to wrap up the championship tonight, and I started the season with Kolb as my QB, and then picked up Orton when he got hurt. Rode Orton all the way until the semifinal game (Week 15), when I picked up Kerry Collins for his matchup against the Texans. And played the matchup with Grossman this week in the finals. That didn't work out as well, but good enough to keep me in the game. There's certainly nothing wrong with targeting one of the top QBs in the draft. But I'd rather spend the first 5-6 rounds loading up on other positions and then roll with Sam Bradford or similar at QB.

    Sit Vick!

What evidence have you seen that makes you think that this guy is old enough to drive?
