Also Waters is another commie nutbag, I bet he's also a resident geek. :P

If he was a commie wouldn't he be on Team Trump ?

Why ruin a good song like that.

I won't take sides, but given a choice, Waters doing Floyd > Gilmour doing Floyd. And I have seen them both do Floyd.

um no, I was just noting that I'm a far bigger fan of Gilmour's musically, it makes it easier just knowing Waters is a commie. :P

Waters is unquestionably better than Gilmour. Gilmour is a great musician but Waters is the soul

Finally I can agree with wormy on something

Saw Brit Floyd last night. Really great show. Best version of "The Final Cut" I have heard from anyone. If you like Floyd, go see them.

That was great. My 2 brothers saw Brit Floyd in Boston a couple of weeks ago and said it was a great show.

I've seen a different Floyd tribute band, The Machine, a couple of times. I think they're pretty good, too. My brothers both said Brit Floyd blows away The Machine, and after seeing this video, I think they're right.

There is a local Floyd tribute in MD called Several Species, and they are fantastic, but Brit Floyd has them beat.

There's a German band called RPWL that got their start as a PF cover band and now they're doing original work and it's almost like hearing new Floyd material.

Here's a sample if anyone's interested.

Interesting take.

Of course I tend to see things from a guitarists point of view, so Ive always felt Gilmours work gave PF such a unique sound.

Gilmour gets tons of credit IMO, for putting out 2 more awesome albums post-Waters. No denying that Waters had become a tyrant and the Wall could have been a solo album. The fact that both could produce such greatness shows the level of talent in the band.

Can't disagree with that and on that note have you heard Doyle Bramhall II play with Waters?

Yeah. I saw him trading solos on Comfortably Numb with ??Snowy White?? It was pretty great as I recall.

But, I also remember thinking at the time that it was Gilmour who wrote those solos originally.

I should mention here that Gilmour is one my top 3 favorite guitarists. Not a shredder, but wow can he set a mood. I think his solo on Another Brick in the Wall is one of the most inventive and well executed guitar solos of all time.

It really is too bad they couldnt work together anymore. Like so many others, I feel like they might have given us just one more great one.

I'm a fan of Snowy White, played with Thin Lizzy too for a bit.

This is one of my all time favorite albums ( Richard Wright "Wet Dream" ), it was my introduction to him. :walkman:

I've got it on a DVD concert titled In The Flesh.I highly recommend if you buy concert dvd's,it's near perfection and spans years of great Floyd material.

Here's another clip from the DVD.

Stumbled across this professionally mixed video of Waters last tour "Us and Them". I went to the Los Angeles show, and it was probably the best concert I've ever attended. Eddie Vedder comes out and sings with Roger, during Comfortably Numb.

Enjoy...
