Mike Evans suspended 1 game

Recommended Posts

It's very interesting

I thought both of them would be out their next games.

I don't see the fairness is these rulings.

Green should be out also, or neither should be out.

It's the NFL.

Neither should be suspended. The goal is to kill one another on Sunday. What do they expect. Cool heads?

They should expect not fighting and not cheap shots. imo

Well deserved. He should've been ejected like AJ as others posted.

If it was during a play that's one thing, but to cheap shot someone after the play because your QB is an idiot was ejection/suspension worthy.

Green got ejected. I think if Evans was ejected yesterday he probably wouldn't be suspended.

This is how Mike Pereira explained it today. If Green had not been ejected he would be facing suspension this week too. Even though he only missed half a game, they've considered it punishment served already.

It's not unfair, just a botched (lack of) call by the refs last week in not ejecting Evans.

Gives me a reason to sit his butt. Cost me a win last week along with several other wins in the past.

He's out, Fitzpatrick is the QB. How do you all feel about DeSean Jackson vs. the Jets (Mo Claiborne (if healthy) and will he cover him and stop him?). I was ready to cut DJax now I'm wondering if I should start him.

Evans suspended for cheap shot

I couldn't believe he wasn't ejected, probably would've saved him from being suspended.

Late and rough hits during the game are one thing.

He slammed him in the back during a dead play. It easily could've resulted in a serious injury. He should've been suspended 2-3 games. The NFL says they take protecting player's health seriously, but minimal penalties for cheap and dangerous hits like that show they're full of sh*t.

I have Evans on my team and I agree. Both him and Green should be off the field for the next few weeks. Winston should be suspended as well coming off the sidelines and making contact with a player on the field. That would fit the NFL narrative more about player safety.

So Evans and AJ Green's behavior is more acceptable than Lynch the other week?

Lynch was ejected and suspended for touching a ref.

Well. That is a whole other topic. Can not compare them really. And for good reason.

Agreed. They need to keep a clear 'you do not touch the refs' rule in place. Those guys are completely unprotected, both in terms of equipment and in terms of not being huge football players. And they are the ones in charge. Let the players start touching them, the whole game falls apart.

FFToday has DeSean Jackson ranked as the #7 Wide Receiver this week. I think I'll start DJax over S.Diggs.

I'm starting FItz, while really hoping that a hurricane might somehow make the NFL force Kansas City to play a game this week.

Don't know that they say that. But they do say "Can't let the non-old-white-guys run the thing that the old white guys are supposed to run".

A vet like AJ Green put a young mouthy Jalen Ramsey in his place.

Evans had the back of his QB in a scuffle.

Umm.. this is football the way it has been played for a long time.

Evans' QB didn't need him to have his back. Winston started it, for one, and wasn't even on the field. And there wasn't an actual fight before Evans just leveled the guy. That's not having his back, that's ambushing a guy. Not how FB has been played.

Oh hell yeah. I think it should be a 3 game suspension. And I roster Evans. That was sooo cheap.

You clearly didn't see the game. Winston was being Winston. He's such a great leader. Lol.

I heard a local reporter say that the Ramsey just kept reminding Green that he was only 1 for 6 in the game. And that he was soft. Green, this football hero of yours putting the mouthy youngster in his place got kicked out of the game. Now who do think won that matchup in that game?

Winston is a tool and had maxxed out his ceiling as far as being a team leader last year.

Exactly, Winston left the sideline and antagonized lattimore by poking him in the back of head. Name another QB in the nFL that would come onto the field and do this. NONE.

Winston is ghetto. Evans was just misled and not that bright about his actions.

Didn't Ramsey put his hands on Green first, or am I wrong about that?

Flacco would. He's the guy who told his O-Line to run out onto the field to tackle the kick returner at the end of the SB if he was going to break it for a score. His OLine said he was serious.

Yea, he shoved him to the ground after the play was over and then walked away like nothing happen, then AJ Green attacked him.

Stuff like this happens in every sport. It's usually the second guy retaliating that get's the penalty. That's where player discipline is tested the most. Especially in hockey.

In this case, the youngster won the battle.
