mcstl25 0 Posted December 22, 2014 I'm down 30 points going in to MNF tonight. My opponent has Peyton Manning, while I currently have Jeremy Hill, Emmanuel Sanders, and Julius Thomas in my starting lineup. I also have Sanu and Gresham on my bench. Am I crazy here to think that my only shot at winning is by starting Sanu and Gresham over Sanders and Thomas? Even if Hill has a monster game, most likely Peyton will keep pace with Sanders and Thomas and I'll end up on the losing end. The only way I can see pulling off the Monday Night Miracle is if the Broncos mail it in like the Colts did yesterday and the Bengals somehow put together a huge offensive game (very unlikely). Am I crazy or smart (in a desperate kind of way)?
IMMensaMind 459 Posted December 22, 2014 In standard scoring, yes. In PPR, no - you stick with the guys who you think will score best. Some of this strategy considers your scoring system, so take that into account. I laud your thinking though, and You have ZERO chance. You're welcome. mcstl25 0 Posted December 22, 2014 Yes, yes I know. I figure with the Broncos I have a zero percent chance, but with the Bengals maybe it increases to one in a million!? The league is a .5 PPR league, which probably just complicate things more. 2nd place isn't too bad, I guess...
GreenTD 56 Posted December 22, 2014 What if Peyton gets hurt early & Brock Osweiler gets the nod? How would you feel about this move then?
mcstl25 0 Posted December 23, 2014 Peyton never gets hurt, though that is the one scenario where this could backfire. Or if he would for some reason get benched.
stonewall 647 Posted December 23, 2014 It does seem like your only real chance to win.
GreenTD 56 Posted December 23, 2014 I never proposed it was a realistic idea but crazier sh1t has happened. I could see the OP swapping out Sanders for Sanu in hopes he breaks out.

bfros 53 Posted December 23, 2014 uh.....well it's halftime and that 30 pt lead has got be cut in half, at least....wow
Quickolas1 80 Posted December 23, 2014 Or Hill just has a good game and Peyton goes to Sanders & OJ ...which is what has happened through 2 quarters.
mcstl25 0 Posted December 23, 2014 Was looking good early. If I would have gone with Sanders and Gresham it would be about even now with 4 minutes left in the game.
TennisMenace 156 Posted December 23, 2014 I like your thinking here.
mcstl25 0 Posted December 23, 2014 Sanders and Gresham would have won it, but I was all in with them Bengals. Almost worked!
GreenTD 56 Posted December 23, 2014 Valiant effort, at least you were thinking outside the box.
