Rex Tillerson, Exxon Mobil CEO to be named Secretary of State?

Recommended Posts

Donald Trump is expected to nominate Exxon Mobil CEO Rex Tillerson as his secretary of state, two sources close to the transition process told NBC News on Saturday.

Tillerson, 64, became president of the Texas-based oil company in 2004 and has a close business relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He has spent his entire career at the company now known as Exxon Mobil.

Tillerson will be paired with former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton as his deputy secretary of state for day-to-day management of the department, one source added.

From what I've read it seems he has a pretty good relationship with Putin, whom he has known him since Yeltsin was in power. He received the 'Order of Friendship' from Putin in 2013.

He was also President of the Boy Scouts from 2010-2012.

Seems like a big ole Fock You to Obama, don't it?

No politicians if that's what you mean.

What we definitely need more of is massive corporate interests directing policy.

No wonder Trump's not taking a salary from the U.S.

The Russians are probably paying him quite well.

Nobody pays like Arabs.

jeez this is a drain the swamp hire

Why put the politicians between the lobbyists. Just hire the lobbyists themselves.

Carl's Jr. CEO for Labor Secretary. Exxon CEO for Secretary of State. Fossil Fuel Lobbyist and Climate Change Denier for Head of the EPA.

Trump is on a roll with these recent hires!

Here's the funny thing.

If Clinton won the White House, each and every one of these people's peers would have the equivalent job. Everyone would be calling them qualified.

HTH

Obama selected Eric Holder, a wall street lawyer who specialized in defending white collar crime, to be his attorney general, right after Wall Street had just finished robbing the country blind. And lo and behold, nobody even indicted, never mind convicted. Liberals complaining about cabinet picks is funny.

Loretta Lynch as AG, now that shite was funny. What did she say about defeating terrorism? "Our most effective response to terrorism is compassion, it's unity and love". Yeah, that's just what you want to hear out of the nations Top Cop. Someone should have told her she was the AG in 2016, not a flower child in 1968. Nice job once again, Barry.

Really? Not suprising. Wow. 😄

You claimed you all can stop whining about Hillary(which is false).

And that I cant(I'm not whining about Hillary).

So yes...your post was ridiculous

I see the Trumptards are already practicing their excuses for when the Orange Messiah nominates the same old corporate cronies to enact the same old warmed over tinkle down economics:

B-b-b-but ... Obummer!

We can officially say goodbye to the bend over diplomacy of Kerry inspired by the puzzy in chief.

Nah...now we will just bend over to Putin.

And you all cheer that idiocy

Again...BS. The Mattis pick was well received because he is not just some cronyistic jackass.

This guy is a Putin Clown.

Drain the swamp? He is filling it with lobbyists and more inexperienced BS. One of his most qualified still got the position because she was a giant Trump donor (McMahon)

And you all keep excusing all of these guys no matter what. Very few of you...if any even criticize some of these utterly ridiculous picks.

so what you are saying is you wouldn't be happy if he hired anyone who supported him

good think Ted Cruz is moving up the SCOTUS list, that should make you happy

No...not what anyone is saying. You all really love to make up things that people aren't really saying.

Whining?

You clearly missed the point of my post.

Everyone on the left, yourself included, says, "Drain the swamp hahaha"

Meanwhile the other option, who clearly hasn't been gotten over by the left, would have appointed the EXACT same people.

It's pretty relevant. It shows hypocrisy.

It's a matter of optics. Trump said he wouldn't but he does. Clinton didn't acknowledge her ties to Wall St and Goldman and would've.

No matter the results of this election, GS was in control of this country. Throwing the holier than thou BS about how dumb Trump supporters are for buying into the "change" rhetoric is merely covering for the fact that you (as an entirety not a singular) long ago accepted the corporatism that America has become.

Yes if Clinton had won she would have hired similar people. Thing is, Clinton is a career politician and more of the same. We all knew that going in. Trump sold himself as an outsider, something different. Turns out he is more of the same.

I voted for Gary Johnson. I wasn't dumb enough to vote for a guy who promises to bring back the manufacturing jerbs while having his campaign hats made in Mexico.

:dunno:

Yeah...Hillary is done. Her "option" is irrelevant to what Trump is currently doing. At some point you need to look at his decisions without making the ridiculous deflection of what you think Hillary would have done.
