*** 80's Song Draft *** Completed

2.10 Crazy Train - Ozzy.

Ozzys Debut solo effort gave us not only more of Ozzys unique vocal stylings, but also introduced the world to Randy Rhoads guitar pyrotechnics.

The song has been way overplayed by now, but what great song hasnt?

10 rounds is really not enough to include all the great ones, but at his pace, well be lucky to make it thru 5.

Well, rholio is gone, bunny is gettin ready to leave Las Vegas and the Patriots are gonna walk thru the playoffs, causing untold numbers of geeks to leave the board in disgust/disgrace again.

I seriously considered this song at number 1

the most Iconic Song from the most Iconic movie

should have easily been a 1st rounder

2.12 Don't You Forget About Me- Simple Minds

This woulda been my next pick. Great quasi new wave vibe that exemplifies one of the key musical directions of the 80s.

3.2 Mony Mony- Billy Idol. Punk goes pop. Now that's how you do a cover. You take it and make it your own. Has to be the most played song at weddings along with Shout. I forbid it at mine because of the "get laid, get focked" call back. "She's fat, I'm drunk" is also used in some areas.

Love this song and totally reminds me of being a kid in the 80's.

Hey, Hey What, Get Laid, Get Focked!

3.3 Dead or Alive - Bon Jovi

Hands down, the greatest Bon Jovi song. There are 2 signature riffs in this song plus the solo and Sambora nails them all.

going a bit heavy on the hair metal up in here

I'm picking songs I actually liked. So I won't be picking Simple Minds.

Bon Jovi isnt really hair metal. They never actually played anything that resembled metal.

They were more like pop rockers who also wore big hair and spandex. The difference may be subtle to some, but its there.

G N R was also not a hair metal band. They may have had one foot in the glam world, but the music and lyrics were so much more raw and kick ass than anything the hair metal boys put out.

They true term is HAIR BAND, not hair metal.

HTH

That is where you are getting confused.

Arguing my hair band acumen, is like arguing with digby about lying.

I guess I think of the certain bands that haven't withstood the test of time, without staying in that same gimmick

We already know your lack of music knowledge is rivaled only by your lack of sports knowledge, so you should probably shut up now.

Bon Jovi and a few others often get lumped in with the hair metal bands. But the fact is, theyre more like Van Halen than any of those other true hair metal bands.

Those 2 terms are not the same. Nearly every rock band playing in the 80s had hair.

They didnt all aspire to be metal.

They were a hair band, 100%, without question.

Because they made it out of the era, doesn't mean that era didn't happen.

Are they a hair band now? nope. Were they? you bet your focking ass.

Was Van Halen a hair band since they all had long hair and wore spandex?

Define hair metal band for us. Or, define your term, hair band.

Dopey fockin argument. Enough.

The difference is musical, which I dont expect ed to fully understand, since hes a just a part time dj, yet a full time doosh.

Once again confirming that you have almost zero musical knowledge.
