Will superstition cost me ? Stay tuned

Recommended Posts

I picked up Adam Humphries when Emmanuel Sanders went on IR. Used him week 14. He didn't do much, & had to play at Baltimore today, so I looked for another WR.

Out of 3, I chose Dante Pettis. I noticed that since he's 'come alive' in weeks 12-13-14, he's had exactly 7 targets in each of those 3 games, & ended up with 77 receiving yards week 12. I thought that was a good sign & slotted him in for today. The interesting part is that Thursday, someone panicked & dropped Tyler Boyd.

I should mention that this is a points only league, I'm in 1st place with a fairly comfortable lead over 2nd, & therefore, can afford to be aggressive.

I used my number 1 waiver position & picked up Boyd.

But because of all the 7's related to Dante Pettis, I left him in, & Boyd on the bench. As I type, Boyd has 9.8 pts against the Raiders.

Anyone else ever let superstitions influence your fantasy football decisions ?

UPDATE: 3:20 PM CDT

I just saw the following: Tyler Boyd suffered a right knee injury & has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's Week 15 game versus the Raiders.

I wondered why he was stuck on 38 yards so long. Hope he's OK.
