As a former minor league pitcher I'm 100% for this.

And to be honest, I didn't know there has already been a pitch clock since 2015.

Ive had to do that once when I was younger. I believe we were tied going into the 16th inning (I remembered we passed 15innings) and we started having to put a runner on second to start the inning. Believe we went another 2 innings at least before we finally won. But its a good idea. Helps the game finish quicker. Im all for it

No sh1t. Heard its even harder for pitchers in the minors to make it up to the show. Kinda why I didnt pitch in college or try out as a pitcher. Had the velocity but my height kills me. Especially since I couldnt throw mid 90s and wasnt as talent as Greg Maddux. So I stuck to 2nd. Loved pitching more than any other position though

Anyone who would complain about Minor League extra inning rules needs a reality check. This is inevitable in MLB.

That doesn't make any sense.

Just do what I do when my students say they can fly. Pat them on the head, say thats awesome, and go back To what you were doing.

For you nonsports guys Im sure It doesnt. Im not tall but like pitching. Cant throw upper 90s either. Unlinked Greg Maddux who has great control and nasty offspeed stuff Im not that good. But I love pitching. Understand now?

Sorry

You're short, can't throw the ball with velocity, and you can't throw with accuracy. That being said you love pitching.

Is that better?

It is stupid, but at least it is only in the minors...

One thing we need to learn is we are no longer the target audience. It's like the BS touchdown celebration crap in the NFL. I can't stand it, and bet you can't either, but realize the target audience overwhelmingly does.

I don't mind it at all really. It's the minor leagues.

I mean who really gives a crap who's winning or losing in the minor leagues. Those levels are all about development. I'm not sure how much development you're getting out of pushing guys Extra Innings too much.... I think the potential entertainment value you get from the change outweighs any tiny bit of gain you would have.

Do not want to see this in the majors though.

Yep that is true... I hate the endzone celebration crap as well... In fact I rarely watch a NFL game any more, not because of this, but because I just don't have any interest in it...

I love the idea. It will create more specialist pitchers and along with the mound visit changes and so forth, baseball is on track to right itself with the younger less patient generation.

I guess I never looked but what exactly is the penalty if the pitcher runs over the clock?

Nope. Youd outpitch me easily. Hitting however.....highly doubt it

You are correct. I'm 43 and never healed properly from a shoulder tear.

I was thinking about getting into professional sports, as an athlete. I think I was close to one of them, but I was short, fastish for a white guy, but not black white guy fast. I didn't throw particularly hard. I could hit the strike zone decently at 60 mph. I couldn't jump very high, but my legs were on the stronger side for my size. I decided to be a construction worker instead. I'm kind of regretting it though. It would have been pretty cool to be a professional athlete.

You said you had the velocity.

Right. He clearly said he had the velocity. Then went on to say he couldnt throw 90.

More evidence that his college baseball career was a farce.

Obviously we know you never played sports and have no clue about it. If someone says they have velocity doesnt automatically mean they throw 90+. Stick to what youre good at like making up stories of running a six figure business from your home

Yeah but you said you had the velocity, which means you threw hard enough for the majors. If someone couldn't throw 90, they would say they didn't have the velocity. You said you did.

I used to play the big 3 sports as a kid and up thru HS.

Ive wasted countless hours watching baseball live and in person at all levels from little league to MLB.

I coach both my sons in all 3 sports.

At no time have I ever heard someone claim a guy had good Major League velocity then turn around and say that same person couldnt even throw mid 90s

The 2 statements couldnt be more contradictory.

Not only are you a liar, but youre also extremely dumb for someone who scored in the top 5% of all ACT testers.

Did he say that?

Which part?

He posted the velocity contradiction above in this thread.

He claimed he scored something like 34 of 36 on the ACT awhile back.
