Steelers superbowls are tainted (roided up).

There, i said it.

Maybe when the Giants have as many Super Bowls as the Steelers, you'll learn it's Super Bowls and not Superbowls.

 So you let the other team decide when the game is over.

Actually, Freeman did when he threw the pick.

Check that, actually when the refs called Williams' catch incomplete. That decided the game.

Can't say the game was decided when there is time on the clock and you're only down by 7. There is no argument that would make sense. If there is a chance to still win the game, any team not trying should be ashamed.

Giant fans looking real good in this thread. Beaten down with their limpwristed view of how to play football, they're left with nothing more than ridiculous comments like this.

To each their own. If a team wants to concede defeat, that is up to them. The Bucs didn't want to. Giants fans need to get over it. You're taking it personally because its your team. There is no definitive support for your position on this argument. I have witnessed this multiple times throughout my life in the NFL so to say it is not done or its an unwritten rule is bull. The game was within reach, they didn't want to quit. Frankly, as someone who played offensive line for years, I can't believe they didn't recognize they were coming. It was freakin obvious.

I'm not taking it personally. Giants won.

But if teams are going to get praised for playing till time expires, then shouldn't teams that don't be reprimanded for quitting? Can't have it both ways.

It was bush league. Why didn't he do the same thing at the end of the first half? Cause they hadn't lost yet and he hadn't morphed into a sore loser.

Schiano who is a college coach and NEVER won a national championship has a better METHOD than all these NFL coaches since the beginning of time?

THIS is so hilarious, it's not even funny.

I WOULD LOVE TO SEE HIM PULL THIS ON THE STEELERS.

MIKE TIMLIN WOULD "EFF" him up.

Do you really need the effing clock to say 0 for you to know the game is over.

Jesus focking christ.

All coaches (hall of famer too) should have been fired for conceding defeat. Yes. That's 15 (excluding schiano) EVERY WEEK.

I can gurantee you Schiano will not pull this again.

YES YOU ABSOLUTE MORON! I DO!!!!! You're starting to get it! If I'm coaching and my team can win with a fumble recovery and score YOU'RE DAMN RIGHT I'M HAVING THEM PLAY TO THE WHISTLE. If another coach wants to concede defeat, fine with me. That is THEIR decision. It has nothing to do with having it both ways.

You're arguments are also getting worse with why they didn't do it at the end of the first half. It is not a do or die situation at the end of the 1st. Not to mention 1 tiny detail....THEY WERE FOCKING WINNING at the time.

Doesn't matter..there was time on the clock...destroys Schiano's whole argument. And it doesn't matter that they were winning at the time unless he has a crystal ball and can see the future.

Again, goes to show how dumb you are.

Here's a score:

45-0

with 1 second in the clock. Your tiny brain will tell you that the team with 0 can still win. Again, do you idiots really need the clock to read 0 for you to think the game is over.

I'm a Giant's fan, but it was bush league when NY faked cramps, too. This is bush league as well...doesn't matter who TB was lined up against. Did they technically still have a chance...yeah, but it was so remote as almost impossible to happen, but there is a much greater chance of someone getting hurt, on either side, in this situation. And Schiano's argument just doesn't hold water when he passed on doing the same thing at the end of the first half. Bush league. Now he is going to have to do this every single time when this kind of situation pops up in order to not come off as even more of a lying sack of sh1t....worse, he opens up his team to every other team employing this tactic against TB in the future.

It was a one score game, not 45-0. I liked you better when you were bragging about making big money in the stock market.

Rushing the kneel down was a college coach move. Schiano will learn the differences between college and pro ranks soon enough. Doubt you'll ever improve though.

The clock is only 1 of the equation my friends.

You mean teams are going to have to play whistle to whistle when they play TB. What is wrong with that?

Have you ever seen a botched snap? You know where the QB doesnt get the ball from the center? It happens all the time, right? So, what if the snap was botched on a kneel down play and the defense was just sticking their thumb in their own ass and didnt recover it? Stranger sh!t has happened, I assure you!

You poosies defending the "kneel down" are weak! When the clock reads 0:00 the game is over, not 1 second or 1 play before, regardless of whether that play is a kneel down or a hail mary!

Schiano coached 11 years in Rutgers.

His record there was 68-67.

This is the big boys league. If he can't even compete in the college ranks, his chances of success in the pros are slim to none.

His antics will get old after losing the next few games.

This is weak.

If this is the case, why did the Bucs do a knee down the week before?

Does he NOT believe his players can secure the ball on a running play. Does he think the knee down is essentially a LOCK to end the game. If it works on one end, why is he trying to force something that essentially almost never happens on the other.

That's BS. It's BS in the NFL, it's BS in college, it's BS in high school...complete, utter and total BS. That game was over, you lost, deal with it and be thankful the other team isn't running up the score. I hope the rest of the NFL brethren of head coaches decides to declare open season Schiano's QB and run the freakin score up every week. I don't care if it's within the rules or not.

Years ago I used to play basketball against a guy who would do what I called the Pillsbury defense...he'd wait until you were taking a shot then poke you in the belly with his index finger. Guy never got called for a foul because it was so ticky-tacky. But it was, in my mind, utterly against the spirit of the game. I was playing in a tournament and facing his team and warned him not to employ that defense on my teammates or me. Of course the first time I was taking a shot with him guarding me I knew it was coming. He was late on the rotation and only got to me when I was at the peak of my jump and reached to do his old dirty trick. I purposely flailed back with my upper body like I got hit and made sure to kick him in the head when I did. He got a busted lip and sat for about 10 minutes while the bleeding stopped and I got two fouls shots. Unfortunately the NFL players can't kick Schiano in the head, but I might just instruct my players to run right at him out of bounds if they get the chance while avoiding excessive on-field contact. Bush league begets Bush league.

Hopefully every coach is now implementing the "drop to your knees regardless if there's an arm/hand under there" victory formation.

Cool story bro.

That's stupid as hell. His record at Rutgers is weighted heavily in losses early in his career. Since 2005 he had only had 1 losing season, went to 6 bowl games, and won 5 of them. He coached at Rutgers so it's not like that greaseball Saban who gets nothing but 5 star recruits in backwoods Alabama. Try getting kids to come to Rutgers in beautiful New Jersey sometime. It can't be easy. He won anyway. His record from 2005 through 2011 was 56-33.

Are you kidding me? Schiano turned around a Rutgers program that went to ONE bowl game in it's 130 year history before he got there. They hadn't had a winning season since 1992. From 1984-2000 they went 67-114-5. Schiano was hired in 2001 and suffered 4 losing seasons. But from 2005 to 2011, they went to SIX bowl games under Schiano, winning 5 of them. They had winning seasons in 5 out of 6 years.

Jerry Jones now voices his opinion that the league should eliminate kneel-downs.

Personally, I like it. the CFL's rule is that if the offense doesn't gain positive yarage in the last 2 minutes of the game, the clock doesn't start. I'd love to see that rule instituted in the NFL, even though I retain the right to hate Canada.
