okay, I watched about the first half hour of the first episode. I was really hoping it would be good.

but god damn, stop wasting my time with your 8 minute single camera shots and your time wasting artsy fartsy bullshit trying to prove that you are the best director since Felini

it was f****** annoying, and tiresome. I'm going to force myself to get through the first episode, but it's on a god damn short leash. Odin Kirk can't carry the entire series.

zomg, first of all ... as a kid that grew up in the southwest, with a family full of lawyers ... focking nailed it. Prolly partly why my brother put a Glock in his mouth one day ... it all became so clear, it's just a waiting game. Most people don't have enough money to wait for a long time. Most young lawyers don't either, if they are lucky they work for the local PD. Some shoot for the moon. The bad lawyers never find jerbs at all in their felid,,just spent $200k college fund like Mommy amd Daddy expected. Friend of mine used to say, "She's an MRS major." ... i dated a few rich girls and they pretended that they were OK with me being middle class, but they weren't really. Clueless biachez.

I din't know ... Ya know about the foundations and stuff. Some girls is all "My Daddy is a millionaire" in 1990 and ai alreqdy didn,t give a fock. My familly gives away more money than your daddy will ever be worth, in his entire life time. OK? Gives it away. Try again to impress me again ... pretend we are both poor, because the stories of your Debutante Ball are pretty boring, to me. Honestly.

And then, there's the guy that will do whatever it takes. If you put a dollar in his pocket. As Jesse PInkman said, "You don,t want a criminal lawyer, yo ... You want a CRIMINAL lawyer."

And for those of us that understand the skirting of the laws and such ... for some of us, there is suspense. Breaking Bad was so good, there's just no matching it. To see, what really is the facilitation (sp?) of that criminal enetrprise and how Saul became a bad eough guy, to end up involved with what he got involved in. Elipses? question mark?

I am interested in the writing. Because it is smart, and real.

Mostly though, Breaking Bad is good music videos. That's what you need is a guy, with good ideas for Music ... And this was just 6 months late:

Good song, well mixed. He's the problem ... it's so digitally manipulated that the lead singer, and the guy who wrote the song, can't sing it live. Can't hit the notes, even at all, apparently. So,,in desperation, he had a woman that can kinda sing it .... Big hit, gonna make him rich, but it's interesting to note, he can't sing it live. Wont even try.

"i bet you didn't know that I was dangerous."... We know, that in real life, you can't sing, and that makes me sad, because I really do like that song.

Not that focking hard to sing.

I would be a shiatty singinging coacjph, be lkke a boxing coach, "Ok,,you wanna get in there, and if you gotta falcetto, to get back kn those harmonics ... k know you can make tha transition. Fockin nobody in the entire world can make tha transition" and i would have you training 6 hours a day until you could move up an octave. There's no, "I can't sing it." You sang it. Mkzy ... It's there, and it's a big hit, and you sang it.

Gimme a couple weeks ... Jesus, is nobody paying attention? Ya know, if you can't hit the high notes, perhaps ... some backup singers? Couple weeks, I make that somg 10 times better, and they can play it live. If yer not a rock star baby, and you don't wanna be a rock star ... That's more than most people can say is that they took shots for thier dreams. Got up their, looked around and said ... Cool. I got dreams too. I been there, cresting that wave where I am the man, but I never hurt nobody.

The casino, hurts people. I dunno what I been doing playimg poker against other poor dumbasses that get sucked in my the fancy lure of the free baby shiat buffet, 3 nights a week, it looks like some kinda baby shiat. Either dark baby shiat, or pale baby shait ... on a good night, there is badly cooked chicken fingers. You never know, what you are gonna get. And it's weird, if you order the "chicken tenders" which is, pretty much the same thing, from the kitchen, they are crispy and actually pretty good.

Same food item, soggy and cooked poorly, same kitchen ... i get that the 2 old day stuff gets fed to the poker room ... but it's just cooked worse. Is that intentional? One of these days, I am going to order the "chicken tenders" ....WTF is a "tender" anyway? The waitress is gonna bring me my chicken, while I eat the same focking thing they are giving away for free, but mine is better.

Wanna stand there, and wonder ... Why is this poker food .... Same shiat ... So much worse?

Boy that episode was totally contrived and lame as fock.

So far episode two was pretty good, one was pretty meh and three sucked.

BB had some down episodes though, especially early on

agreed.

weakest one so far.

Don't get me wrong, I was entertained - but from a critical standpoint, It wasn't all that great.

Odenkirk wasn't as strong - was it b/c the plot/script didn't help him? probably.

And Mike's "back when I was on the job in Philly" story was lame, pandering to BB.

If the First Episode was a B+.

And the second was an A-.

This one gets a C.

Episode titled 5.0,

quite possibly one of the best 5 single episodes I have ever seen on television for any show, any time.

it was gripping, emotional and I couldn't turn away.

Mike did such an amazing job

Easy now. We're only two episodes in!

One problem I'm having with the show is we know where a lot of these guys end up so there isn't much dispense. I knew Tuco wasn't going to kill Jimmy. I also know nothing terrible will happen to Jimmy or Ehrmentrout.

This will be a problem as they continue doing BB crossovers.

Isn't the show supposed to jump around from past/present/future of breaking bad though? This would invite some suspense.

The first episode had a couple of scenes after BB if I recall

Agree 100%

I can't recall a show, ever drawing me in and giving me goosebumps like that. Superb! Bravo!

I am totally addicted. Last time a tv show had me like this, it was Lost.

The only minor quibble I have with that episode was that fetid pile of pig sh!t Joe DeRosa playing the veterinarian. Sure, he's completely unfunny and hacky as a comedian, and only landed the role as a favor by the producers to his long time buddy Bill Burr. But his posture was infuriating. Wearing that while lab overcoat and lack of shoulders in general, hunched over, he looked like a giant turtle standing on it's hind legs. If you've ever seen a trailer for the hideous Dana Carvery vehicle Master of Disguise, Dana Carvey at some point is wearing a turtle costume. Every word that DeRosa spoke, to me, sounded like, "Turtle, turtle, turtle. Turtle? Turtle!!" Took me completely out of the scene. That was just some God awful acting on top of it.

The opening of epispde 1 had a scene from Saul after BB. I think that was just to set up the series though

Great episode. Jonathan Banks should win an Emmy for that episode.

Should win an Emmy for being that ugly and still getting hired for TV

I didn't know that was Joe DeRosa. I guess I've never actually seen him before.

That was one of the best backstory episodes ever  Funny, I was thinking John Locke was the only other great backstory that compared, and it's another bald, older, ugly dude. The lesson being...if you see an older, ugly, unassuming bald guy at a bar, go and talk to him, he will have a great story to tell.

Yes, Banks is a tremendous actor.

Speaking of John Locke. I DVR'd Hard To Kill last night (Seagal) and was watching it and John Locke was in it. I miss the hell out of those movies. so bad, but so good.

Anybody remember him from Wise Guy?

One of the best shows on tv in the 80's.
