Looks like Pocahontas is Native American after all

Recommended Posts

Why would someone who doesn't explicitly know their lineage go back and change their official ethnicity?

1. Casino money

2. Have the ability to be marked down as a minority

Only two things I can think of.

3. Votes from people that want to feel good about themselves because they supported a person that was a minority.

Well this will be something major, like 100x as loud as normal. It will immediately be framed as the story of the year in order to get Warren off the headlines.

Put your prediction in the shenanigans thread.

She would rather be known as being 1/1032 Indian than be known as being 99% white.

I wonder why, isn't the mantra that white is empowered and entitled? Has great power and economic advantages? What might compel someone to shun such things? hmmmmmm....nietzsche wrote about this mentality .

I can't tell you what Nietzsche wrote. I only remember the basic gist of it. I can say that the answer to your third question is because the premises from the first two questions are bullsh*t, that power is affiliated with the minorities now, exponentially so in a university setting.

Nietzsche despised the effects of slave morality and the priestly-aristocracy due to the inversion of values it brings; it glorifies impotence as the highest moral value. Unfortunately, while he hated this ideology, at the time he wrote about it the Jew's were the ones doing it mostly, so people tend to see him as an anti-semite, which he was not.

Neitzche essentially assailed the emergence of the mentality that to suffer and be downtrodden was the noblest of circumstances, he thought people should aspire to greatness....during their years of captivity the jews had survived by turning the common mantra of those who win/achieve/succeed on its ear.

Can you link something on this?

Separate but related...there's a difference between this idea of a noble downtrodden, and an artificially presented downtrodden. If it's not true disadvantage, but you get some deferential treatment for the identity, that makes it attractive. You don't take on actual suffering. I imagine Neitzche was talking about people marinating in their actual suffering, and not striving to rise above because it made them feel virtuous.

Was just reading an article rehashing how this has evolved for her. This comment pretty much sums it up:

Paleface squaw take big crap in diaper. Big stinkum.

Back in history all countries, tribes and religions were ruthless killing machines. All of them. The white Man just came out on top. Get over it and move on.

I like Ben Shapiro's idea, I think Trump should do it

Send her a giant check Ed Mcmahon style, for 900$ or 1/1024 of 1 million

That is flipping brilliant....

A century and a half later, we got Warren.

After her not-universally-well-received exploration of her DNA, Elizabeth Warren has returned to what made her into a potential presidential candidate in the first place: needling big companies. She’s written angry letters this week about two of America’s largest and most controversial corporations, Amazon and Wells Fargo.

Time to get back to the tried-and-true think.....

Fighting for labor rights is Warren at her best. Serving as an affirmative action side show makes her look like a clown.

The GOP hates Warren for annoying their masters. They seem to know Trumps populism is as fake as his marriage.

Right wing populism is real. So much as Trump, well, he was able to tap into better than and before anyone else.

The GOPs 30-year record on organized labor, worker protections, healthcare etc. shows exactly where they stand on the working class. Just wait til they start talking cuts to social security and Medicare / Medicaid to bridge the deficit.

The only organized labor the left cares about is the teachers unions. Anyone who has been part of unions knows this. Unions are useless when the jobs are in other countries.

Yes. They have consistently sucked, it's true. I haven't forgotten and the legacy of that and the neocon corporatists that make up the vast bulk of the GOP's political leadership remains the biggest factor in why I'm not embracing the GOP fully. I still fear when Trump is off the scene, the fake populist Jeb! faction will retake control. I'd like to see much of the older GOP leadership that were around during the Bush years retire or get primaried out of the party and hope the new ones replacing them aren't more of the same.

Here's the thing, the Dems have abandoned those issues as well. Well, organized labor and worker protection. Health care, I thought Obamacare was an upgrade on before in so far as access. Better access due to Obamacare, fine. But healthcare still requires a lot of work regarding out-of-control costs which are just so brutal and which was put on the backburner as the Dems focused on access. I haven't seen either party come up with a workable plan here.

The Dems have turned to their social justice crusades which are based on empty solutions to non-existant problems. Black Lives Matter, Feminism, LBGTQSTFUYOUFOCKINGSUCKGTFO. It's engaged in a cultural war on American values and traditions and history and it has three heads: in the media, Hollyweird, and academia. Again: the media, Hollywood, and the schools are a huge, huge problem churning out anti-traditional leftist brainwashed focktards.

And so that's the war that needs fighting right now that threatens the future of the country. It's a cancer. In so far as worker rights, health care, and environmental issues, I'll continue to support the Dems but not at the expense of throwing away the soul of the country and promoting the breakdown of the family unit, traditional norms, public safety and the promotion of job and economic growth.

You can do what I did and vote for neither. We are nearly two years into Trumps term and theres no healthcare plan, real wages are down and we are running a trillion dollar deficit. The Dems are t the answer but Trump is just the clown in charge to distract you from the same old robber baron policies the GOP has always been about.

Well, not only that, he keeps repeating the same lies.

And there are the other out-of-sight, out-of-mind problems. Before the financial crisis hit in 2008, the Fed was sitting on $900 billion in assets and by 2015, seven years later, they were sitting on $4.3 due to printing money (quantitative easing). That money didn't go to everyday people, they were bailing out the banking elites that had caused the crisis in the first place.

That's because both parties have this or that flavor of social issues they fight about but when push came to shove, both parties at the time were exposed as controlled by the corporate factions. When push came to shove, the corporatists that queitly control both parties formed an alliance against the people to save their donors asses on exceedingly generous terms.

My ancestors helped found Orlando in the mid 1800's. I'm a true blooded Native Floridian.

My ancestry in America dates to mid 1700's. Yet I'm not a Native American.?.

At least I'm not a filthy injun.

Warren apologized to the Cherokee Nation; details lacking. Did she apologize for claiming to be Native American, taking the DNA test or just being a focking ¢vnt?
