Do you love the site that runs your league or are you ready to switch & to who?

Recommended Posts

We were CBS for a long time then switched to ESPN. Not as much flexibility but its free but relatively decent. Eh...

What site do you use, what is the cost and how flexible is your scoring and can you do an online draft via an app?

What do you like most and wish you can change if you could?

Cheers

CBS for the last 18 years. For us it is worth the $150 a year. Works out to about 5% of league entry fee per team. Just about everything about the CBS site is better than ESPN with the exception of the draft room. I think ESPN is more user friendly for the draft. CBS keeps the history of the league very well, which i know needed plenty of manual entries on their part. They have done the work and we appreciate that. One thing i utterly dislike about CBS is the options of communicating with the league. Everything gets rolled into a feed which includes all CBS features, transactions, etc. It makes topics disappear very quickly. The text boxes they have only show 1 or 2 lines. Then when you try to use the arrow keys to scroll for proofreading, most of the time it takes that as the enter key, and the post gets posted without a chance to correct misspellings, etc. The guys in my league must think I am semi illiterate. LOL They do have a commissioners message area but they stick at bottom of page (need to scroll) and doesn't show up on the mobile site. Which is another thing,,some teams only use the online app and much of what I put on the site doesn't show up there. It also hit and miss when replying to a post, if it will make it to the main site. It has become pretty disheartening as commissioner. I miss the days when CBS used to allow us to post an article which stayed featured on the home page. League interaction was much higher back then, but owners are now involved in various other fantasy endeavors, pools, daily fantasy, other leagues, etc.

I would never ever put my league on ESPN.

I have used yahoo, ESPN, CBS, and MFL. MFL is the best for dynasty imo. So much flexibility. CBS offers a simpler platform for redraft while offering more flexibility than espn or yahoo. If we didn't have bonus scoring in our league though, we would pro switch to something free

We use MFL and are pretty happy with it. However, MFL is getting a little long in the tooth and it seems like for the last 10 years they are just taking the money and not investing any of it back into the site with new features or UI updates.

I've been looking into and testing a relatively new site called Sleeper that appears to be more modern and mobile friendly. Not sure if we're going to move just yet, but it looks promising.

for customization RTSports and MFL are flat out better. RTSports was awesome in IDP Dynasty PPR league. In a 12x2 league on MFL and it does a nice job, it's just the site if flaky, it doesn't scale down well to a phone and you have to rely on 3rd party apps for functionality on your phone. CBS is a great site, love the league history, the content, etc. Of the free sites, ESPN is the best IMO. Can't stand NFL.com and Yahoo is trapped in 2005.

So is MFL. Nothing has changed in a decade it seems like.

Here's mine. Site is mobilzed so no separate app needed.

I'll check out that Sleeper site though.

You'd think after the last 20+ years, someone would step it up and improve upon the ESPN-CBS-Yahoo oligarchy.

Where did you get that skin? Did you do that?

When I played it was MFL.. Very customizable and their customer support was top notch... Plus the help on their forums was quality as well...

We also use CBS for our Dynasty League. Regarding the comment about everything gets rolled into a feed -- they do provide a filter between ALL Posts, Messages, and Recaps (on the Desktop site). On the mobile App it is League Home, then TALK, TRANS, LEAGUE NEWS. This might be useful if you are just trying to see different types of posts in the Rolled up Feed....

RTsports. Awesome site for FF.

Seconded.

The price is around $100.00 per year, but totally worth it.

The league I run is on CBS for all the reasons mentioned above. To the poster who was losing his current news feeds, there's an option to pin posts to the top, so they stay there. I'll do that with my messages to the league while they are relevant so they don't get bumped down.

I play on an MFL league and while it has all the flexibility and customizations, it's like going back to DOS to manipulate a PC. Everything seems buried in layers of menus and it's frustrating to use in general especially for FAAB waiver claims. While it will do anything you ask of it, it seems really cumbersome and outdated in terms of interface. I will say the mobile app is much better than the actual web interface.

If you are in a low stakes / more for fun type league, ESPN is the way to go as it's free and it's got solid web and mobile interface. NFL and Yahoo are definitely behind ESPN for the free sites.
