I can't believe people here are acting like DeDe Westbrook (or even Corey Davis) are going to be high level producers right off the bat, if ever.
I don't know if it was this thread or somewhere else but I even saw an OBJ comparison..... Miss the first half of the rookie season and then come out and set the NFL on fire.
I'll admit I never heard of the guy before this thread, don't really keep up with college football, but it sounds like based on his college career, pro day, and preseason he should be one of the top rookie receivers this season, prior to the injury. Bortles isn't anything to get excited about, but you could say the same for Eli. Both can launch the ball and rack up garbage time points. I'm willing to gamble on DeDe as a bench warmer for a few weeks to see how things shake out. With Robinson on IR and Hurns and Lee both inconsistent there is an opportunity to steal targets. And with a healthy Fournette keeping the chains moving downfield, the Jags should have a decent number of redzone opportunities (not to mention one on one coverage for DeDe) going forward.
Plus, everyone needs at least one Jags receiver on their roster. It is tradition.
