NFL agrees to commit $89M over seven years to social justice causes.

Seriously, you have a group of people trying to BETTER their communities.

No they aren't. They are trying to denigrate police forces, white people and the US in general.

Kaepernick wearing socks depicting cops as pigs is "bettering a community" how?

Add insult/name calling here.

This is absolutly not a free speech debate, even though people treat it as such. This is a case where the employees are using media tactics to put their employers in a tough spot, and initially were getting up on them because of the unrest in an already polarized environment that obama fueled heavily over his 8 years in office.

Hopefully the NFL is manipulating the numbers on that 89 million so as to have it coming out of the players pockets since they are the ones who started all of this drama at work instead of doing this on their own time.

As the NFL loses money that should be taken directly from players salaries.

Ratings down 19% on Thanksgiving Day.

And I'm sure it's because of the political crap the players are introducing into this entertainment space. If I go to see the new Star Wars film this month and it goes political on me, I won't watch those anymore either.

I think the singers and actors already changed there attitudes due to losing to much money. Fantasy football is carrying the NFL on there backs and can afford to throw money around in attempt to make a problem go away. Think about it before fantasy and the money loss due to the loss revenue and Goodell and the owners would of taken action. Personally I see things spiraling down for the NFL. Not as many are playing fantasy football or have the same ambition as they had when it first started. What used to be a strategy and doing your research is currently based on mostly luck these days. In the olden days the formula was simple, draft 2 stud RBs and 1 for flex and determine when you have to jump to fill out your line-up for targeted players. Of course that was when you had 1 stud back for each NFL team, and when you had people around that would draft a Ryan Leaf in the first round as a rookie.

Pretty good game overall. Really fun to watch.

So did your protest of the NFL start or end with the GB-Pitt game?

LMAO

Really hard to give a crap about anything you say when half the stuff you write is a lie...

Sure. This is a typical example of how you debate topics. Actually you don't debate. You just name call. That is your go to method of trying to make sense.

Says the person that never has a relevant response to me calling him out on his blatant, widespread contradictions.

Saying you lie about things isnt name calling. Its part of debate. Im sorry youre offended that I constantly point out that you disprove your own statements over and over again.

So did you stop watching the NFL or not? Because as far as I can tell you just say you did to make it appear like players kneeling is that offensive to you. When in reality, you still watch the NFL regularly because youre all talk. So either youre not as offended by whats going on in the NFL as you make it out to be, which neuters your arguments and makes you an unreliable person to have a productive, intelligent conversation with anyway, or you do care but have less passion/motivation/self-respect to actually follow-up on your threats than the very people youre trying to subvert.

Did you skip the part where I asked you whether you stopping watching the NFL or not? Oh wait youd actually have to give a response where either answer could be easily contested. Yea, better stick with what you just wrote...

It isnt, but one stupid decision doesnt negate an entire cause.

Just like evidence of certain cops being violent/undertrained/negligent/racist doesnt mean that all of them are, but it may point to an issue that needs to be examined.

That's just 1 of a subset of stupid decisions all under the umbrella of the main driving stupid decision. Which was: they decided that it was bring your problems into work day.

It was stupid for people like you...not them. You, and the POTUS, couldnt accept that there were no repercussions for players passively kneeling for a cause you reject. The owners, just like with every business in this country, have every right to respond to those protests/actions in whatever way they believed in. This is the stance the NFL took, and you cant handle it because it didnt go your way. Well boo-hoo! You know what you have every right to do in this capitalistic, free society? Protest! Dont watch the NFL if you believe so strongly in your principles! But you cant even do that. The players took risks doing so. Kaepernick was black-listed for what he did. You cant even turn off the TV for one Sunday for something you supposedly loathe/oppose. Maybe the real problem is you have an issue with people that have a backbone to stand up for what they believe in, and their employers that allow it, because its a threat to your apathy...

If the players did their protests outside of work hours, then I am fine with it. Doing it on the job, they ruin the entertainment value of these television shows.

The NFL is probably manipulating the numbers on that 89 million so as to have it eventually come out of the players pockets since they are the ones who started all of this drama at work instead of doing this on their own time.

You can be angry and name call all you want. I have no anger here because I can see that it will be the players that will suffer from this ploy in the end because the owners will get theirs first. If the NFL suffers, the players will feel it the most down the line. Oh and the country will suffer if there are other people like you who can't separate entertainment or work place from politics.

Blaming Obama for creating racial divide and NFL player protests while the current president is retweeting racist, anti-Muslim videos. Lolz.

I don't know... getting "bought out" seems to cheapen the movement somewhat... both sides just want to come out looking like they got something accomplished... feels a lot like our current politcal climate.

Theyre not getting bought out. The agreement has no clause in it about players standing or kneeling.

Its the largest social contribution the NFL has ever made. Id say its a pretty big win for both sides.

It's simply because there were some players who just couldn't help themselves and wanted to be singled out on camera as doing something "courageous", instead of just doing this outside of the work place. No one would put them down if they just worked on these things when they are not representing a team or company. Like I said earlier, when I go to see the new Star Wars in the next few weeks, if they open the show with political or social commentary or actions, that would suck.

Actually, now that I think of it, I kind of wish they would have just stopped showing the anthem on television and simply broadcast right at kickoff. Of course, when I watch a game, I don't tune in anymore to pregame or post game so it doesn't really interfere with my entertainment.

Slush fund. Nothing will come if it but some hokey PSA's that will only be shown on the NFL network.

God forbid you have to think and be entertained at the same time.

How convenient that now you only dont watch the anthem. Do you change the channel for a split second too when a kneeler is shown during the game?

Do you throw your Big Mac back at the cashier when she asks if you want to donate to Jerrys Kids because the placement of the causes coin box is impeding your enjoyment of your lunch?

Hahahahaha man it must be torturous to have to avoid so many great things in life because of petty animosities.

I separate my work from my entertainment and my social/political activities.

When all this came about I stopped watching pre and post game shows. It's not that hard to understand for normal people. And why do you care so much about what I do?

Nope. I don't. And again. Why do you care what I do? It's consistent though with your typical useless approach to conversations.

Also, I don't think you understand the movie. That seems to be consistent with you as well. Hmm.

What would you call it then?

https://nypost.com/2017/11/29/nfls-100m-plan-to-end-anthem-protests-is-dividing-players/

"This initiative would surpass all of the NFL’s current charitable campaigns, including its support for the military and breast cancer awareness. The NFL also hopes this would put an end to the players’ protests during the national anthem."

Numerous players have also come out and said they appreciate the gesture and won't kneel again this season.

"Jenkins said on Wednesday that he’d stop protesting during the national anthem if he’s able to come to terms with the league. “For me personally, this whole protest has been to draw awareness,” he said, according to Pennlive.com. “So if the league is proposing something I feel like can replace that or amplify that voice then I see no need in me continuing to protest, but those conversations are still being had.”

The NFL HOPES. Its not guaranteed. And not every player has said theyd stop protesting because of this.

Not to mention how is the awareness and now huge donation not beneficial anyway?

Question:

Why would some players stop protesting and others continue?

Answer:

Because they don't even know what they are protesting and are all on completely different pages. The majority of them are just trying to fit in or feel pressure from others or something. It's all just an image thing to show that they are "courageous" or :"concerned" or sheep or something. At night they go home and play Xbox or Playstation and forget the whole mess and the "cause" until the next game.

Is his girlfriend calling team owners "slave owners" part of that one stupid decision?

Give me 2 examples of cops being "violent/undertrained/negligent/racist". I'll just ask for 2.

And if and when you give me those 2 tell me if anyone in the neighborhood called the "violent/undertrained/negligent/racist" cops.

And those cops responded. And then get villified by pieces of insult like you and the NFL thugs.

But before I give you 2 examples, do you really think there arent two that I know of/can find? Are you that close-minded to think those type of people/police dont exist and that if they do that me pointing them out means Im vilifying all police?

It sounds like you have an issue with anyone criticizing police under any circumstance...like theyre unconditionally infallible and that anyone that chooses to examine them for flaws is somehow a scumbag/thug.

2 examples of what cops did wrong. Are you insult?

"Taking the knee" is all about cop against black man" bull .

You don't want to get arrested then don't break the law. You don't want to have people call the cops on you then don't break the law.

On the rare occurance a cop murders someone or breaks the law himself then throw his ass in jail or fry him.

"Take a knee" during the anthem? BLACK PRIVILEDGED THUGS.

Everyone knows there can be jerk cops. Just like jerk friends, family members, work associates, etc. Yes and mistakes can be made by all. Oh, there may even be some jerk football players.

Noone really knows what the NFL players are actually protesting as a whole, but I hear people say they are protesting police violence against blacks.

If that is the case, then there are a small amount of certain occurances with the "victims" being less than quality citizens. They have been found to be carrying illegal guns, fighting back when being approached, having histories of violence or drugs or drinking, or all of the above. These cops lives are on the line in most of these cases.

Often times the danger that aproaches them justifies a response. In one way or another.

If cops are your problem in life, you need to rethink your life.

The protesters in the NFL are stupid. Simply that.
