Oh man this is going to be romantic.

First on the menu for the night is I get to take my daughter to tumbling practice.

When I get home I'm going to turn the lights down low so I can watch basketball better.

Then to cap off the evening as she falls asleep on the couch at 9 p.m. I'm going to slink down nice and slow to the basement where ill watch an NBA game while playing fortnite.

Doesn't get much more sultry or hotter than that

Going to see Peter Cetera at a casino over in Tulsa. Newbie would be proud.

Before that, though, we are going to dinner at the best steakhouse in Oklahoma for my money.

Don't forget, today is also Valentine's Day and Ash Wednesday. So, no steak today. But tomorrow? Steak and BJ day!

So you will not let any kind of meat touch your lips on Ash Wednesday? Enjoy tomorrow I guess.

I remember the most pissed off my dad ever was at me I think was on an Ash Wednesday.

His brother was a priest. And on Ash Wednesdays and Fridays we would have seafood. Usually boiled shrimp with just French bread and a salad of some sort.

THEN I learned about Leviticus. Both paragraphs. The one about homos. And then the one right after it about shellfish.

3 things pissed my dad off more than anything else on the planet. In order:

1. Homos

2. F'ng with Da Choich

3. Smart Ass kids.

So I guess he wouldn't enjoy all of my jokes about the irony of Easter Sunday being on April Fools Day?

I thought priests ate purple onions during Lent.

Hate to admit but I bought 4 1/4 lb lobster tails to accompany the red protein. Can you suggest the best way to prepare. The boys enjoy steamed crab legs, clams, mussels and lobster. I'd assume dipped in some butter would be the way they would enjoy eating most but I'm all ears for cooking tips.

TIA

Boil them for 5 minutes each in salted water. Pull the meat out of the shell and cut into 1 inch pieced. Sauté in lots of butter for about 7-8 minutes. Serve.

for the tails, i like to grill or broil them.

for mussels.... pan sear and steam with a sauce of some sort (ie: white wine, garlic, lemon; or a thai lemongrass curry)

for clams.... steam with white wine sauce

for crab legs... boil in flavorful water (old bay, cajun seasoning, etc), then finish on the grill with some butter.

now if you are doing them all together... do a seafood boil with flavorful water. throw in corn cobs and 1/2'd red potatoes.

He said that he had 1/4 lb lobster tails. Those are probably previously frozen North Atlantic lobster tails. Not big and pretty easy to deal with. Having just had the same thing (assuming they are the same thing) twice over the last month (tailgating at AFC Championship and at a friends for SB), I can tell you it is very easy to just boil them and then sauté them in butter. Taste great with a nice steak and easy to make.
