Humming Bird War!

Recommended Posts

My neighbors must have forgotten to fill their humming bird feeders... There are currently about 6 hummingbirds having an all out war, trying to get to mine. They're chasing each other around, pecking at one another. There's one who's kinda smaller than the rest... while the big ones are busy, he sneaks in and gets a drink. I never realized how territorial they are.

they are amazing. super mean though. they look at me through the window sometimes when the feeder is empty. they just stare at me with angry eyes, like they are daring me to come outside.

:ninja: I thought this was gonna be about a vibrator fight.

It still could be, if I catch enough of them. :ninja:

My parents have numerous feeders on their property in northern Michigan. They will sit on a high perch to watch as many of them as possible and divebomb intruders to "their" feeders.

Your parents will do that? Sounds dangerous.

Bright colors are the key with those littler fockers. Had one land on the bill of my orange Bengals cap for a second until he realized I wasn't a 6' flower.

They've been putting on a good show. I never knew they could be this entertaining.

They are the only bird that can fly backward. They accomplish this by moving their wings in a figure eight motion.

When I bring a refilled feeder outside they will fly right up to the feeder while I am carrying it.

Then it would belong in the Flight horror stories thread.

That hallway was deflowered long long ago. No way those birds go anywhere near there.

I heard the nectar has the same smell and appearance of moldy cottage cheese. :dunno:
