can u work out drunk?

okay, so someone in my lab retired today and i had a lot of merlot.

i feel a little tipsy.

can i still workout?

You don't want the higher alcohol in your system to go to your muscles so no you shouldn't.

 

If you have had a few, safety is also a concern.

 

Your body gets rid of alcohol about 1 drink an hour. Do the math. Take a day off and work out tomorrow.

Absolutely. As far as the booze will go into your muscles :lol: Its in your blood, it will go into your muscles no matter what. I do quite a bit of cross country skiing and we drink a whole lot of wine when we do. It makes it that much more fun when your half crocked. Nothing like going down the big hills on X-country skis when your drunk. You cant turn for shat in the first place, add alcohol and the trees jump out at you :shocking:

I'd say it's probably better to pass on the workout for tonight and go at it tomorrow instead.

the only experience i've had is running home from the bar in bad weather while drunk a couple times (don't know why i didn't call a cab) probably live like 7-8 blocks from the bar so maybe a little over a half a mile

 

it SEEMED like i was going fast (when i get drunk i time travel)... and i didn't get tired :overhead:

 

i'm sure that's not how it really went though :shocking:
