Where does Jay Cutler sign? and how much money does he get?

I'm just curious as to what opinions are out there.

I don't know why anyone would sign him frankly. All he's ever done is lose and throw game losing picks.

He doesn't care about football. He is a terrible person to have around your team. He will not be a good backup because he isn't even interested as a starter. Why would he put more effort in when he isn't the starter? I would rather have any bum on any team than him.

I think he should go to the Jets , and he and his buddy B Marshall can once again be teammates.

Colin Kaepernick will be opting out of his contract with the Niners on March 2nd, becoming a free agent without any contractual baggage. With his availability in play, I would think that Cutler's chances with a QB-needy team would be even further diminished.

I'm as guilty as anyone of deriding Kaepernick over the years - but I think that if he escapes his currently toxic environment and lands on a real team with a strong support system in place, he might have a chance to finally come into his own. At any rate, I think that he'd be a more worthwhile investment than Cutler.

I think Kaep has pretty much proven by now that he doesn't have what it takes. People kept thinking maybe Cutler could find something he hadn't shown before. At this stage qbs are what they are. A qb isn't as Inna curate as Kaep for this long just because the situation isn't ideal.

I actually think he'd fit in Houston.

My first thought was Houston, but I think they are stuck with Osweiler and his contract.

I'm not to sure , I don't follow players contracts, but I know they over paid for Osweiler.

Judas Priest they overpaid for Osweiler. So... I'm at the Raiders-Texans wildcard game, and obviously there wasn't much to cheer about for me. But one measure of smack I did get with the Houston fans around me was their QB. Every time he bounced a pass I'd laugh at them and say "you're stuck with that, at least our guy comes back next year."

Cutler should have a few suitors imo:

9ers

Broncos reunion

Buffalo if Taylor leaves

Miami if Tannehill isn't ready

Jets

Zona if Palmer is done

Browns

Maybe Jets and Niners and Browns.

But I don't see either the Broncos or Zona or Dolphins or even the Bill being interested.

I think he's proved the past few seasons hes not worthy of being counted on.

Poor Bills fans. Romo and Cutler are the names being tossed around for them.

Not to mention that AFC East schedule is flat out brutal next year.

(My wife is a life long bills fan). Her misery is gonna continue.

Why would anyone want an cancerous head case on their team and in their locker room? Especially one overpriced and 34. He'd be a good fit for some kind of "I'm a Tool" reality show.

I'd say a one year deal prove it deal to Houston. They have a big time defense and the run game would open up if they had a QB that was a threat to complete a pass. They made a bigly mistake in signing Brock but you can't just sink your franchise for years to come over it.

There is no prove it with Jay Cutler. He simply doesn't care. He will have the team hating him in no time, bringing down locker room morale. The guy doesn't deserve to be on an NFL roster.

For 1 year, I'd rather have Romo.

If I was the Texans I would rather take a shot with Kaep over either Romo or Cutler.

I don't trust any of those two.

But can the Texans offered to pick up another Qb,With Osweiller contract ?

I believe the term you're looking for is AFFORD tiny hands.

I understand the concerns with Romo - I have them too... But for 1 year, maybe 2, I'd much rather have him over Kaep... With Romo the only issue is health - if he has it, watch out.... With Kaep, he sucks even when fully healthy.

Houston will have some cap room to play with, but not as much as many others.. I think they are projected to have between $21m-$26m available.

Hard to disagree with your point about Romo for one season.

If he's on he's darn good.

And I'm not a Kaep fan , and nor do I think he's a better over all player then Romo.

But I would rather roll with him , and see if I can build for a long haul situation.

But your right to win right now, Romo would be the better option.

Thanks for the info about the Texans cap situation.

Of the three of them , Cutler is third.

They owe Oz 17 mil guaranteed right? How much would Tony cost? He's on the Cowboys books for something like 14 or 15 mil next year, so reasonable to assume that's what he wants. I don't see HOU paying 30+ mil for one position, especially if Kaep or Cutler can be had for 5-8 mil a year.

I think Romo is owed something like $20m still... But I'm not sure a trade is doable - primarily bcoz teams know Jerry is stuck and can't afford to keep a $24m cap hit on the books as a backup (which would be his cap number to us if he stays).... Dallas can release Romo after the June 1st designation and break up the remaining $20m hit over the next 2 years - which frees up money for us. But it also makes Romo a UFA - which is what I bet teams are waiting on.. If/when that happens, they can sign him for whatever he'll agree to with no residual cap hit implications.

Romo may rework his contract if that is what's preventing him from starting.

as for Cutler, I think hes better than the lower tier starters out there. There will be a market for him somewhere.

And if it's the Browns...... I have to think hes better than what they got.

scouting report on the top QB's in this years draft isnt glowing. So maybe the Browns draft a difference maker on D and give cutler a 2 year 'prove it' deal where all the guaranteed salary is in year 1 of that deal.

I disagree that Cutler would be a good fit for the Browns.

He seems to be the a guy that will bring a necitve spin to the team.

maybe, maybe not. That is for the Browns to decide. I wasnt really talking fit. I was just saying he's better than what they've got.

My main point is I think he will get another shot at starting somewhere if his salary expectations are reasonable and if he wants it enough.

there are more teams that need QB than there are good QB's in the draft, (and I dont think it's a great draft for QB) so Cutler got lucky in the sense that hes in the perfect postion to squeeze out another chance at being a starter.

I'm not saying he is the answer for anyone, but for a team with QB problems he can at least fill the hole until a better opportunity arrives.

In the right situation, he can put up decent numbers. I have faith in that. In the wrong situation, the guy is a problem.

(then again there are a lot of players out there who are good teammates when the team is winning and bad teammates when the team is not)

Jax are much better of in staying with Bortles.

They need to coach him up , I think he has the ability to be a good starter.

I wouldn't allow Cutler to come in and ruin the chemistry that I think this team can regain.

I agree

Bortles big problem is that he gets hurt and then his mechanics go screwy. I think this is something that he will fight with on and off for a while.

Maybe he didnt continue to work on the mechanics in the offseason like he did the year before. I have no doubt that may have contributed as some old (bad) habits crept back into his game.

Either way, now is not the time to quit on this kid. This is not where Cutler will land.

Interesting prediction. I was thinking he was done but that might be a good fit.

By the way, too bad the season ended the way it did for the Raiders. The AFC play-offs would have been more interesting with a healthy Raiders team.

Just out of curiosity, have you followed Cutler closely? He has been a poor teammate and leader for a while now. I remember Jets fans being so happy about Brandon Marshall when they got him, calling the Bears dumb. I tried to warn them that he was a head case and would do more harm than good once things got tough. Sure enough he quits on the team and everyone turned on him. Similar stuff happens with Cutler. He doesn't belong anywhere

Here is the thing no one remembers. While cutler is a douche. He has a cannon. Hes a gunslinger and it fucks him. But he gives you a chance as a gap starter. 3 year contract.

Kap though. Hes not good. Everyone remembers him running and throwing the year they went to the sb. They changed the read option rule the next year and hes been since. Also you dont think his kneeling does not count as baggage? Yea right.

I would take a shot with Kaep before I would allow Cutler to destroy any teams chemistry.

Now Kaep does have his baggage also, but I would rather take my shot with him.

Please excuse your language.

Thank you.

That Houston team seems pretty darn good, despite a sh1tty QB. Bill O'Brien has to know if he sticks with Brock, he's just gonna get fired in the end. Maybe Houston's a good fit for Romo?

I know that when he's right Romo is a very good Qb.

But I don't think I can trust him if I was the Texans.

He's just to prone to injurys.

Now I know anyone can get hurt on any play , but he's an older player and hasn't been healthy for some time.

I would take a shot with a younger player like Kaep.

With his ablity to also run with the ball , that would be an asset.

You really think Kaep is worth a shot? If Brock is getting O'brien fired, so is Kaep. I would just roll with Savage and hope for the best.
