Chancellor, Thomas and Sherman's injuries were well known going into the game, though they didn't disclose every single detail about them beforehand (NE would obviously have done the same). Lane broke his arm during the game and left. Do you think he faked that? They aren't excuses, they are facts. Who knows if they had any impact on the end result?
