What was wrong with the natural?

Robert Redford's character specifically. I know they showed a little bit of blood around the liver area, but did they ever specify what the hell was actually wrong with the guy?

Truth be told, I'd take the Bad News Bears over all of them.

They removed the bullet from his stomach, which they said was deteriorating due to having a bullet lodged in him for 20 years or so. I just assumed that in the final game he had pulled stitches....

And never a mention of what happened in the World Series. :dunno:

World Series didn't matter, Pop gets the team from the judge if they win a pennant, they did, end of story.

I haven't seen Field of Dreams either, it just looks so friggin sappy. If were making a baseball movie list need to add Eight Men Out and Major League.

Same with Major League right? They beat the Yankees for the pennant and roll credits?

I guess I have a personal affinity for Field of Dreams because it's set in Iowa

And that last scene where he asks his dad if he can have a catch gets me every single time. Heck just saying the quote gets me.

She wasn't a conventional beauty, but man Virginia Madsen oozed sex appeal in that movie.

Yeah..me too...

And it isn't a choke up scene..But the scene where the NAtural is in the maternity ward, and Glenn CLose is there..and he just looks at her quick and says "God I love baseball" I loved that line because there was a time when I felt the same way. Something about that sport. I don't see someone saying god I love BB, Football, golf, tennis etc...with the same passion. And I mean as a player. Good line, well delivered.

Totally agree. I was a far greater basketball player...but that first love is baseball.

I actually leave this Saturday for the Cubs Fantasy Camp down in Mesa. I can already tell just putting on that uniform I'll probably get choked up just being out there. Haven't played actual baseball in 30 years.
