As a huge Sabbath fan, and metal fan in general, the first three songs released are a huge disappointment to me. They all sound the same and there is no musical dexterity there. Just a few simple chords and a really formulaic vocal style. I will listen to the entire disc a few times before I pass judgment, but I'm not optimistic.

Which songs? I heard God is Dead on the radio but that's it. I have listened to about the 1st 7 or so songs 2-3 times. To some degree, I can agree with your comments, but it sounds like Sabbath. I think Ozzy and Iommi sound great though not super inventive.

You can't compare it with their early stuff but not bad for their age and not creating music together for so long, imo.

God is Dead, Age of Reason, Dear Father. The stuff they made with Dio and even with Glenn Hughes was so much better than this. It's like Ozzy is so limited that the band holds back to accommodate his limitations.
