Andy Reid benching himself

Recommended Posts

Reid has given up playcalling duties today.

If all of us shouting at him are right, we might be able to saddle up our Chiefs again.

Besides the 3-5 gimmick plays each week....does this change the play of the O-line? Does this change Smiths cowardice to throw the ball downfield? He's still going to go through his progression and dump it off....hopefully now to Hunt with no West today. Now sure how much changes for everyone else

3rd and 1/2 yard....lets throw it to an offensive lineman who reported as eligible....while Kelce sits on the bench...and Hunt blocks....some things never change 🙄

Seriously. I was watching and was just stunned.

Also, Kelce gets 90 yards and 2 TDs on the first 2 drives for KC, then gets no passes for the rest of the game. Let's see if they use him in their 2 minute drive.

Also, Hunt, 9 carries for 40 yards. I guess they just don't want to hand the ball off anymore.

I'm playing Kelce and I think I'll send this guy a Christmas card.

Nope. I'm sending that card now to the Jets coaching staff for using Robby Anderson the right way. And darn, he was 1/4 yard from a TD.

Well, they scored 31 with Reid on the bench. Who calls the defense?

They scored a lot of points but the defense was on the field for most of the game. The time of possesion was about 43 mins. for the jets to 17 mins. for KC. Kansas City handed the ball off only 10 times for the whole game vs. 42 for the Jets. I know the Jets have a decent rush def. but K. Hunt averaged 4.4 yards per carry with all of the jet rushers averaging 3.2 ypc in total.

The Jets outcoached KC.

While watching the game, I din't get the impression that KC was out coached, like they have been all year. The KC defense just couldn't get off the field and the players cost them the game. For those that didn't see it, the Jets were down 1, with about 7 minutes left and hit Kearse on a long pass. Had the defense just let him score, I think the Chiefs win the game. Instead, they tackle him inside the five, and proceed to commit penalty after penalty, and milk the clock down to about a minute left before they let the Jets get the TD. The KC offense was a bit jekyll and hyde. Really seemed to struggle putting a drive together, but the explosiveness that has alluded them the past month plus was there. That could be because the Jets defense was too slow for Hill, and busted a couple of coverages on Kelce, but at least it was there. As far as Hunt, it was aggravating watching Smith run for 70 yards while being escorted by Hunt, when Smith could have just hit Hunt wide open in the flats and allowed him to do the same. It would have changed the narrative a bit on Hunt, but the lack of rhythm on offense is killing Hunts value.

Yeah that 70 yard rush was killing me. Hunt was about 5 yards ahead of him and with noone around. Heck, he could have just run up to him and handed him the ball like in relay races. Hunt would have probably scored on that play. But the coaching still needed to manage the play calling better. That defense was wiped out and the Jets defense almost had they day off.
