Thinking since the Cubs are in town I should catch a game I grab tickets for a Saturday from a guy that went to the camp. So now I'm supposed to send him the money for it. Well we get an email that says that the get-together isn't going to a Cubs game but is going to be at this guys man cave that apparently won Man Cave of the year. So I haven't paid the guy for the tickets but he has sent them to me. He is going to the man cave party. Is it bad form to tell him I'm going to send the tickets back so I can make the party and probably catch a Cubs game the day before or do I need to pay for these tickets and just miss the get-together? Depending on how serious you desire for these tix was, youre probavly informally obligated to buy them off this guy. Ask if he would prefer to have the choice of who goes (you don't pay, he does what he wants with the tickets). Choice should be his. He may or may not want to deal with finding people to go. i used to own SF Giants season tickets and would not have to try very hard to sell/give away tickets, so I would have taken them back or possibly traded them for different a game/date. If he knows other people that want them you'll send them back, otherwise you'll send him the money and sell them on StubHub (or trade them to a single desperate mom for a beejer, I like that idea whoever said it). Actually after seeing the crying the Twins did this weekend when Baltimore bunted into the shift to break up their pitchers ONE-HITTER, I'm not sure they are a major league team either.
