They kneeled for the National Anthem and stood for the Brit anthem.

F the NFL and f the thugs they support.

I'm done with them. They never get another dime from me. And most of America agrees.

Awwww. If only they wore the flag as dew rags to mop up their head sweat like all the NASCAR fans. That would show a ton of respect.

And, to be clear, by 'they', you really mean 'blacks who should know their place and be thankful for everything we've given them.'

Keeping OJ in the HOF didn't bother you?

Letting Mike Vick back in the league didn't bother you?

Pouncey twins supporting Aaron Hernandez didn't bother you?

Burying concussion data for decades didn't bother you?

But now you're making your stand??

And doing so on a NFL-related board?

And he's doing it because some guys aren't standing for something that other people use as underwear - https://www.amazon.com/Fun-Boxer-American-Flag/dp/B0072OTYSG. So respectful.

No. I mean blacks who take a thug figure like Michael Brown who tried to kill a cop and the BLM ran with a narrative of "hands up don't shoot" which we all know was complete bullshit.

But idiots like yourself buy into it because of your "white guilt".

dumb ass.

I have no guilt for anything. I have education is what I have.

Isolated incidents that were dealt with.

These scumbags are employees representing a team and a league,

Watch. Within 2 weeks the NFL will come out with a ruling saying they have to stand or owners will take matters into their own hands. :)

Opinions are like buddy. Go to the comments section on Fox news Facebook page. You'll get patted on your back over there. It's a much better echo chamber for you.

Cool it with the name calling folks. If you want to sling childish insults at each other, exchange email addresses or phone numbers and do it directly.

I am educated as well. And I include the white people who support them as well in my criticism of their crappy actions. By your opinion, I must be racist against whites.

They kneel because it's the cool thing to do at the time

I just think there are better ways to get your message across. Its seems to be too divisive to really accomplish what they want to get done. I like what happened in Cleveland in the first week after there was a disagreement in what was going on. Neither side liked what the other was doing, so instead of just hating each other they came together and found a solution. That's what should be happening. Protesting and disagreeing is fine, but at some point you have to have open dialogue and action. Do it once to get your message across, then try and do something more proactive and reach out.

Most likely. I wonder what these players know about the political landscape and some of the controversial things going on over in England? They should all be experts since they chose to stand for their anthem. I bet most don't even vote here.

That doesn't follow at all. But the immediate use of 'thug' to refer to black men who do something someone doesn't like has a long and rich history of racism. It is a word that got started when using the N word fell out of fashion.

Here you go: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5004736/

People like the dude who started this thread overreact to the extreme when black men do something they don't like, and don't notice when white people do it. Wearing the flag as clothing is against our nation's accepted and adopted flag code. Particularly wearing it to mop up head sweat (or groin sweat). Yet no one bats an eye. People protesting by simply not standing up when a song is played about our country is cause for the OP's post. Do you think that's proportional at all to what they are doing?

Not hurting anyone. Not stopping anyone else from doing what they want to do. Just sitting down when a song is played. And they are 'thugs'? Really?

And the song? Here's the third verse of the Star-Spangled Banner:

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore,

That the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion

A home and a Country should leave us no more?

Their blood has wash’d out their foul footstep’s pollution.

No refuge could save the hireling and slave

From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave,

And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave

O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave

Well, the fact that they would stand for the British anthem and not the American one clearly shows they don't know anything about history

This is a board about the NFL, not NASCAR

And this is a thread about respecting the flag. I could have posted all sorts of pictures of bikers and NFL fans too.

That is fair enough. It was the British who stuck us with slavery in the first place. Jefferson's first draft of the Declaration had a passage explicitly blaming the British for leaving us with that problem. But some of the founding fathers in favor of keeping slavery had him take that part out. But Britain has a problem with classism more than racism, I think.

They have a lot bigger problem with racism in Europe that we do here, the hate groups in Britain, on all sides make the ones here look tame

Riiiight. And my post was about that as well. I am relating their actions to the actions of others. I'm still referencing the NFL players' actions by comparison to other actions.

Kaepernick still does not have a job yet he’s better than most teams back up at the most important position in the game. That should tell you how the owners feel about the kneeling nonsense.

But the protests aren't about the existence of hate groups--the protests are about the institutional and systemic racism and oppression. The stuff that's still codified in law, and supported by lawmakers. They aren't kneeling because of all the nazis running around in their little clubs. So in large part kneeling for the British anthem isn't important because none of these guys are impacted by British law. Now maybe there is institutional racism in Britain too, and you can say that they should learn about it and kneel as well if they want to be consistent. But that's a different issue.

You're right. Luckily, employees of the NFL have the right to kneel if they want. And in fact it makes it more risky to take a stance you believe in when you know your boss doesn't like it. It's not particularly impressive at all when everyone in the NFL wears pink for breast cancer for one week. Yay, coordinated and fully approved stance-taking. Takes more courage when it's not approved.

Well, if our system comes from theirs, like you said above, doesn't that make it relevant?

Hate groups are certainly a part of what you talk about

Plus I thought it was about police brutality
