I wonder if he will kneel when he gets to play again

You just can't let it go, can you? You can't be happy for a guy who has struggled to overcome his demons? i hope your team gets knocked out of your FF playoffs by the team that owns josh gordon

I've had josh Gordon since week 7. I'm just curious if after a person has to struggle in the real world if he finds working for these wardens or slave owners is really all that bad

Josh Gordon makes me feel like Charlie Brown.

It seems like every year I end up with Gordon on my team and believing that Lucy won't move the football this time.

So here we go one more time.

Eligible to return week 13 at the earliest.

Playoff schedule is Ravens (wk 15) and @ Bears (wk 16)

With those things in mind....I am passing

If its redraft there are still guys on your WW who can have more value than Josh Gordon this year

If its dynasty and you have been holding since forever I guess you keep holding.

If its dynasty, you picked him up this year, and can get more for him than what it probably cost you using that slot all this time, congrats. I think you hit the cash register and take profits personally. He has lots to overcome to ever have value again and he will always be one positive test away from being done even if he ever makes it back.............and its going to be a long off-season of abstention before you get any kind of a sense for what his location, situation, and value might be next year

I wonder if he'll go the opposite route and join the people crying over other people kneeling.

You mean people who think you should be grateful to be an American

No, I mean people who can't stop whining because other people who aren't hurting them in any way just don't act like they want them to act.

So ya ok for them to act like little bitches but not ok to call them on it

I'm only talking here about the people crying about the kneelers. But of course, the defense of "well they are crybabies too" is always a defense one could turn to. I suppose.

conditionally reinstated, eligible to practice on Nov. 20th, can be on 53 man roster Nov. 27th

On this topic, I'm really tempted right now to drop Joey Bosa on his bye week to grab Gordon. I still have dreams of the glory year. He was money.

he's useless in redraft. dont even bother.

in keeper/dynasty where you keep at least 5 or 6 he may have some value if (key word IF) Gordon shows signs of the talent he displayed during his one big year.

but if you keep less than 5 or 6 I suspect the risk is too high given the return unless the team is so devoid of talent that they have nothing to lose.

i'd still like to know why he can't play till week 13

Beats me. Im not sure where that cpmes from.

Since my league has good sized benches, I put a light bid in on him tonight. I can always keep or drop as more info comes out.

i'd still like to know why he can't play till week 13

"Effective immediately, Gordon may join the Browns to attend meetings, engage in conditioning work and individual workouts.

Subject to compliance with clinical and other requirements, he will be placed on the Commissioner’s Exempt list and be permitted to practice with the team beginning on Monday, November 20.

Beginning Monday, November 27, Gordon will be eligible at the team’s discretion to return to active status or to remain on the Commissioner’s Exempt list for an additional week before returning to active status."

-Nov. 27th is a Monday. So, even in the perfect scenario, he could not play until Sunday December 3rd.....week 13.

I think what he is asking and I am wondering as well is why is he not permitted to practice with the team until November 20; assuming that's the deal with being placed on the Commissioner's exempt list, why must he be placed on that list?

the league is granting the team an exempt, otherwise if he was activated now, they would have to cut someone

He was always going to be suspended for 4 games as soon as he was reinstated for the last time when he broke the league's substance abuse policy (when he declared right before that season he was supposed to come back that he was going to rehab instead), I read that somewhere a while back.

 this.

it's also a courtesy to the team.

this way the browns can choose not to activate him if they think he's still got issues or if they think he will never be the player he once was.

essentially Gordon gets a tryout and the team does not have to cut anyone until late in the month.

He won't be the player he once was.

I hope the Browns front office hired some one to help with the paper work.

Our WW happens Wednesday night. I bid 1% of cap and got him. I had a couple 1 week streamers I could afford to lose now. Im in a good spot in my league so I won't regret the move even if Gordon doesn't do anything. Plus I can always drop him if needed.

Nah, I wouldn't be keeping him. My main league is a keeper league, 5 players, no more than two at any position. But I have AB and Hopkins :) But is Gordon worth picking up for a week or two right before he plays, if you can spare a roster space, to see if he explodes? Depends on if you have the roster space. I haven't pulled the trigger yet, which says a lot.

He's the top add this morning with 24,000+ after seeing over 200,000 adds yesterday.

But there's another WR from the past who's getting some add action this morning as well. At 6th place with over 9800 adds....Calvin Johnson. I had not seen his name on these lists before today.

Yeah, typical jerk commissioner Roger Goodell being the jerk many think he is.

In a nutshell, instead of giving Gordon a full reinstatement and then subsequently suspending him for 4 weeks, Goodell went and gave him a "Conditional Reinstatement" which lasts for 4 weeks. Normally when a player is suspended, he can not be a part of the team, he has to stay away, but that jerk Goodell put him on the Commissioners exempt list where he will instead be able to be a part of the team to practice and participate in team activities. This whole process will allow the Browns to not have to count them towards their 53-man roster, allow Gordon to be involved, and keeps helps Gordon help the Browns. Can you believe that jerk Goodell? Unreal!

How is he a jerk? Gordon is basically being given opportunity to get his life back together. But he is being told to prove he is capable to do it under the NFL standards. Unlike what he did before. Multiple times.

The league thinks it's unfair if they don't give the rest of the NFL time to prepare.

I must have then pulled a Sheldon Cooper. But at least I'm 6 for 9 this month.
