How many points per game does it take to win each week? PPR

Recommended Posts

I know i've seen people talk before about drafting players based on average PPG and adding up the totals to hit a certain number of points each week based on averages to give the best chance of winning.

Are there articles somewhere that cover this topic? OR does anyone know what the average team score in PPR weekly should be based on averages?

For example,

QB needs to AVG 20 PPG

RB 1 needs to AVG 14-15 PPG

RB2 needs to AVG 10-12 PPG

WR1 needs to AVG 15-20 PPG

WR2 needs to AVG 13-15 PPG

TE needs to AVG 10 PPG

D/ST needs to AVG 8-10 PPG

K needs to AVG 10 PPG

That gives us a range of 100-117 PPG. These numbers are purely made up for sake of examples of what I'm trying to ask.

I want to build a team that has the best statistically based chance of winning each week, not necessarily hype players or boom/bust players.

That's something you have to do on your own, since scoring and starting lineups vary so much.

I have one standard league where 105 points should secure a victory most weeks. I have a Poe league where that number probably jumps to about 145.

This is part of how I build all my redraft leagues. Take my projections and build multiple lineups with multiple strategies. I usually prefer the one with the most points, but of course the projected ppg totals need to be trusted. And even in the end most of my lineups are within a few ppg anyway, since pre season is filled with such optimism

Would agree, in every ppr league I'm in 100 plus generally wins.

My league is probably about 130 or so. We also play 2 games a week. One against another player and one against the league average. It helps even things out over a whole season for good teams that have bad luck and vice versa.
