TBayXXXVII 2,117 Posted August 11, 2017 Jones stinks in my opinion. Garcon is old and in a crappy situation. He's not going to have all that good of a season, but next year they'll probably draft a QB and be better. But, by the time the new guy is ready to really produce, Garcon will be another 2 or 3 years older. I'd rather have Garcon just because I don't think Jones is even worth a roster spot to being with. DankNuggs 305 Posted August 11, 2017 Hoyer is going to throw for 3K+... I don't see how it would be possible barring injury that Garçon doesn't go for 1k. 85/1000/5 is my guess. I'll take that as a WR3 all day
Ray_T 591 Posted August 11, 2017 Marvin Jones and Rd3 2018 for Pierre Garcon It is a bit of an overpay for Garcon. But honestly Neither Jones or Garcon thrills me highly. but I think Garcon has the higher floor and Jones has the higher ceiling. overall, so there is a bit less risk with Garcon. Marvin Jones IS younger, so if you dont have a legit chance of winning this year I'd say to keep the young guy and take the draft pick. That being said, it is also possible that the most valuable piece in this deal could be the draft pick. I'm not sure either player is gonna be a game changer, So I'd be the one wanting Garcon. More because of his youth and the fact you get a draft pick with him. My preference is not so much because of talent.

I was thinking about the guy who stunk in Detroit last year and stunk 3 years in Cincinnati. The guy isn't any good. You think he has a ceiling higher than "sucking"? I thought that was his ceiling. (note: this is meant to be taken in a humorous tone... though, that is my assessment of Jones)

(note: this is meant to be taken in a humorous tone... though, that is my assessment of Jones) He caught lightning in a bottle early last season leading me to believe he does have a high ceiling if he can recapture that form He's young enough that it can happen. but like I said, it is quite possible that the draft pick will be the most valuable piece of this deal. That's not saying much about either player.
