nobody 2,022 Posted June 7, 2018 Check it. Jordan Matthews gets a 4 week tryout in the slot. Edelman has to get off the juice and coming off an ACL. Does Matthews have a shot of carving out a role?

lesjroza 70 Posted June 7, 2018 Check it. Jordan Matthews gets a 4 week tryout in the slot. Edelman has to get off the juice and coming off an ACL. Does Matthews have a shot of carving out a role? IMO, he may get a few more targets but I'm not sure things change that much without Edelman for him because he is a very different type of player. I suspect the Pats see him as another tool in the toolbox with a specific purpose which would be to take advantage of certain slot corners and that will still be his role with or without Edelman, even if he is on the field more. That said, he should get more snaps with Edelman out and if he turns out to be better than he has so far in the pros, they will get the ball to him.
nobody 2,022 Posted June 7, 2018 Yeah, to me he's the closest thing to Edelman. I do think he'll take over that slot role, but I'd expect the pats to use their running backs alot more while Edelman is out. Plus Edelman is best friends with Brady. That can't be underestimated. seafoam1 1,866 Posted June 8, 2018 That whole team could get suspended and Brady would still take them to the AFC championship game.
shutdown 40 Posted June 8, 2018 I think the more interesting thing here is that Edelman was working with Brady's "fitness" guru during his rehab. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/early-lead/wp/2018/06/08/tom-bradys-tb12-partner-denies-any-connection-to-julian-edelmans-ped-suspension/?utm_term=.4a5e7f7321f7 "It would certainly not have been wrong to note that Edelman, who is close with Brady, has been giving Guerrero plenty of credit for his rehabilitation. On Tuesday, when asked how hard it was for him to remain patient through the process, Edelman replied, “Everyone’s a competitor, so sometimes you’re your own worst enemy when you’re trying to do that. But it is what it is, and there’s a big part of the process and I’ve got a lot of guys, training staff helping me out — TB12, all that stuff — to get to where I want to be.” In an April Instagram story, Edelman showed Guerrero working on his knee and called him “Mr. Miyagi.” In November, Edelman called himself “a huge advocate” of Guerrero’s methods." nobody 2,022 Posted June 8, 2018 Guerrero came out right quick and said it wasn't him. Strange how this dude is in the news all the time.

Bills04 45 Posted June 12, 2018 Freakin' NFL.. Word in Boston is that his test yielded a substance THAT CAN'T BE IDENTIFIED.. So, knee-jerk reaction is to ASSUME it is a PED, and suspend him. Hence why he has appealed the suspension. This might get reversed. I read an article since this came out - another player beat it (R. Sherman?).
