cyclone24 1,814 Posted June 26, 2018 Drive right out? Don't have to worry about backing into someone that's moving as opposed to maybe a stationary car and the other spot?
Reality 2,710 Posted June 26, 2018 Drive right out? Don't have to worry about backing into someone that's moving as opposed to maybe a stationary car and the other spot? Yup. Plus, the rear camera makes it easy these days.
KSB2424 3,082 Posted June 26, 2018 I've never had an issue just pulling into a parking space then backing out and leaving. Not once. I have however had to sit idle in a parking lot waiting for some jackass to maneuver their vehicle so they can back into a space.
posty 2,296 Posted June 26, 2018 Why? What exactly is the big payoff here? Much easier to pull out in a crowded mall or after a concert or a sporting event when the line is long...
dain11279 927 Posted June 26, 2018 I feel like I've really accomplished something when I pull into the double spot in the middle of the lot so I can drive forward in and drive forward out. Fock yeah

5-Points 2,726 Posted June 26, 2018 I normally pull in forward. If it's a tight fit or the parking lot is crowded I back in because it's easier to get in and out that way.
Patriotsfatboy1 1,432 Posted June 26, 2018 Where is the drive through option? So, there is actually some safety reasons for this and some companies have guidelines for their employees. By safety option: 1. Drive through so you can pull forward out of the spot 2. Back in so you can pull forward out of the spot 3. Pull straight in
KSB2424 3,082 Posted June 26, 2018 KSB: 1. Pulls into parking spaces 2. Stands while wipes 3. Toilet Paper is over NOT under 4. Boxer Briefs 5. lickin_starfish 1,480 Posted June 26, 2018 I back into spaces, because the angles are better when driving my truck. When driving my wife's car, I do both.

dain11279 927 Posted June 26, 2018 Ive tried sitting to wipe and it just doesnt work. Standing is the only way to get the room I need and leverage. This is incredible to me. Id never even heard of this til coming to this bored. And there are numerous posters that practice this apparently.
Cloaca du jour 2,064 Posted June 26, 2018 My daughter was just hit backing out of a space after work at tim hortons...someone whipping thru parking lot. She wasnt cited no big deal. Had she not been backing out...maybe different story
tanatastic 2,061 Posted June 26, 2018 Yup. Plus, the rear camera makes it easy these days. I won’t drive a car without a backup camera anymore. They are so useful for seeing everything and backing up precisely.

EternalShinyAndChrome 2,513 Posted June 26, 2018 The only reason to back in to a spot is if you're a farmer dropping off your vegetables at the Farmers Market. Otherwise, you're wasting everybody's time and everyone thinks you're a huge jack-ass.
Cloaca du jour 2,064 Posted June 26, 2018 <<< standing wiper...proud of it. Also a big fan of baby wipes.
tanatastic 2,061 Posted June 26, 2018 Either you have alligator arms or you are a CBF.Its just logistically inferior. I have plenty of reach and am not fat. I just cant get the angles for swiping, the bowl is in the way, harder to drop the paper back in the bowl, oops clipped the bowl now theres poop everywhere, oops clipped my back now I have to shower. Its just not the right way. I need room to wipe and analyze. Then room to use baby wipes since you simply are not clean unless you use wet wipes of some kind, period (if you got poop on any other part of your body, would you clean it with a dry wipe or a wet one? Exactly..).

5-Points 2,726 Posted June 26, 2018 The driving tests in NoVA don't even do parallel parking any more...WTF? It couldn't have been racist, so I'm gonna go with.... sexist? The downtown area here is all parallel parking. It's surprisingly enjoyable to sit at one of the local watering holes and place bets on how many tries it will take people to get it right. Sho Nuff 719 Posted June 26, 2018 Depends on where. Places I know will be really busy when I leavemaking it More of a pain to back out (Church being the place this happens most) I back in as its usuallybeasier to back in and pull out forward. Just going to a store or restaurant...no.
GuardBum 73 Posted June 26, 2018 Prefer to back in. Except when I plan on needing to open the rear hatch for a large load, i.e. 2 weeks of groceries, longer supplies at Lowes, etc. Then I want the open access. Going to a concert or the movies especially helpful to back in.

Cruzer 1,992 Posted June 26, 2018 Always back in, or pull up and into a spot facing out...........and I always park near a shopping cart bin. Why? It's much easier to get out, especially when azzhole people won't give you the time or space to back out.

Filthy Fernadez 2,696 Posted June 26, 2018 I back my truck in whenever possible to have the bumper/tailgate overhang the cement block thingy. It reduces the amount of vehicle that people drive near.
Hardcore troubadour 12,621 Posted June 26, 2018 I'm going to have to start backing in because of all the violent liberals. I have a Blue Lives Matter sticker on the rear window. Afraid they may vandalize it. Sad state of affairs in our country.
