Players that will rebound in 2014

Recommended Posts

Nice article, but a bit common. I think the average fantasy fan would know these already. Good timing though as too many people are considering S Jax a 'buy low' type of guy. There is a reason he's a buy low guy. Sad to see as he is one of my favorite all time RB's. Huge heart. I was kicked out of the Dallas Cowboys online fan forum for thanking the Cowboys for trading with the Rams so we could draft him. The Moderator of the site argued with me that Julius Jones was the "safer" pick and the Cowboys made the correct call. I'm still banned.

I like how it says Julio Jones is a stud everyone knows so he won't be listed and then goes on to list studs everyone knows: RG3, A.Foster, R.White, D.Pitta.

"Bounce back" or "rebound" implies that all of the players discussed will have been "studs" or very good fantasy producers at some point in their career. Julio is cream of the crop in this category so I think that's why Kirk didn't feel the need to go into detail on him.

:music_guitarred: Not sure I would put Dennis Pitta in the stud category.

In terms of using players most already know about, this is a Bounce Back article like Mike said...not a "here are some obscure finds late in your draft" article. It is intended to be a look at some of 2013's most disappointing players and discuss what happens next. I don't think you can write a Bounce Back player article that is full of players way under the radar. If they're way under the radar, they've never been a relevant fantasy player in the first place.

All 4 of those players had disappointing seasons. I am staying away from foster since i believe he is too risky at his adp, but he is a good boubce back candidate.

Pitta is an excellent player on this list. He will surprise people this year. After he came back last year his numbers were good.

Roddy white is another great bounce back player, though it seems that he is on everyones list as well.

The important thing about identifying bounce back players is not to identify guys that are not on other people's lists. It's to identify the correct guys.

Just a thought for what it's worth...

Good stuff, Fumble.

Are they still using the zone blocking in Houston this year? Or are they instituting something else?

Foster was a perfect fit in that system....just glide along...find a hole..accelerate....then cruise to the second level. Obviously you think it doesn't matter as you think he's gonna rebound. Just wondering how much a change in scheme....if there is one....could potentially impact his production.

Well yeah identifying the correct guys is most important, but if that person is on everyones list it usually pushes their adp up to a point of lower value.

It kills me to say this living in Dallas but I think RG3 will bounce back the most. I like Eli to bounce back too.. While I am at it I believe all NFC East QB's will be great value.. The Cowboys will get scored on at will and now they have a good Oline ....so they will be able to fire back

I actually agree with you on this snatchit. All of the QB's in the NFC East should produce solid #'s this year since none of the defenses in the division are that good. I'd rank the QB's as such: Foles, Romo, RGIII & Eli but both RGIII & Eli could possibly move up with the offensive additions to their respective teams. Solid value across the board.

I agree that Eli and subsequently Eli's WR's will rebound. He has given us some very productive wideouts over his career and I think that will be the case again this season.

I expect Larry Fitz to have one of his best years this year. No longer considered an elite wr despite still having elite talent, the zo a offense is finding its groove. No longer having the terrible mendenhall dragging them down and Palmer getting more comfy with the offense, I see 90 1300 10 for Fitz easy.

I see a big bounce back for Fitzgerald this year. Back to the 1200-1400 yard range. He's got another year of Arian's offense under his belt. Some teams might decide Floyd is now the guy to put their #1 corner on, so Fitz will see some #2 corners and be in an offense that's gonna throw it a lot.

I think a guy that a lot of people aren't talking too much about that will rebound in a big way is Victor Cruz. I can see him bouncing back to 1,100-1,200 yards and 10 TD's again now with Hicks out of town. That would put him in the top 10-12 WR's for fantasy.

As I stated in the New England RB Quagmire thread, I think that Ridley bounces back big time this season. He wants a new shiny contract next year and I am sure that he wants it from some place far, far away from Bill "Captain Cranky Pants" Belichick. The only way that is going to happen is if he stays on the field (i.e. stops fumbling) and puts up great numbers. The talent is there and I think that he puts it all together this season.

Great point, he is prob dying to get the hell out of the mindscrew that is the pats. how can someone relax and play when they know one fumble and their season is done? Then you got the wierd emperor palpatine/vader type thing with Brady where they secretly blacklist guys like Moss and Welker. Throw in the strange preference for as many white skill position players as possible and its just too wierd of a place to play anymore despite sleepwalking into the afc champ game usually.

RG3, he wont start the year injured.

Alf Morris, see RG3. The skins were just flat out dominated in games which negated Alf's effectiveness.

Tom Brady- Gronk is back.
