J. Geils Band, Providence, RI, day after Christmas 1980.

Also qualifies as farthest I've travelled to a concert (~80 miles), but I'm too lazy to post in that thread.

Depeche Mode at Giants Stadium. Nitzer Ebb and the Jesus and Mary Chain opened. 15 years old.

All these years later and my taste in music is still gay.

Twisted Sister, Binghamton, NY, 1983

First concert was supposed to be Iron Maiden but they had to cancel due to illness. At the time there was an actual warning about "harsh language" because Dee Snider would say fock a lot while chatting with the audience. What a simpler world we lived in back then that we had to worry about a few F words.

I took my 10 and 12 year olds to Glass Animals last weekend. Was the 2nd concert for both of them, but I joked they couldn't listen to the f bombs. Was also a learning experience as they experienced what the sweet cheeba smelled like, even though it wasn't close enough for them to see the partaking

We need to have an 80's concert thread.

I saved every concert ticket I ever attended. My mom threw them away with a bunch of memorabilia a few years ago. She kept my Tonka trucks and threw away my brah stuff.

But fortunately, I have a great memory and google to back me up.
