Obviously there are worse matchups for some RBs, but these will have the biggest impact on fantasy football no?

  • Eddie Lacy - Seahawks
  • DeMarco Murray - Niners
  • Doug Martin - Panthers
  • Gio Bernard - Ravens
  • Rashad Jennings - Lions

EDIT - Jennings replaces Peterson. AP vs Rams is not as bad as I initially thought, thanks for insight. They allowed 6th most fantasy points per game to RBs.

Can you think of a RB picked in the 1st 5 rounds with a worse matchup to start the season?

Other than the Panthers the other defenses will not be that strong against an elite back. The Cardinals have issues upfront and the Rams run defense is prone to bad games. The Seattle run D was worked over several times last year.

So who has a worse matchup?

  1. Adrian Peterson - Rams
  2. Eddie Lacy - Seahawks
  3. DeMarco Murary - Niners
  4. Doug Martin - Panthers
  5. Ryan Mathews - Cardinals

1. The Rams gave up some huge games against pedestrian backs last season. Many teams didn't need to run the ball as we could be passed on all game long. It wasn't the defense stopping the run, it was the defense being so lousy against the pass. Rams homer here.

2. Seattle gave up big games against Houston, Carolina, Indy, the Rams, Tampa, Minnesota, New Orleans and Arizona. None had good offensive lines, yet all rushed for well over 100 yards (and in two cases over 200 yards) against Seattle. They can be run on.

3. San Fran gave up 7 games of 100 yards or more on the ground and are missing their top DT and two of their top 3 linebackers. Not to mention they lost their top hitting Safety in the offseason. They are playing one of the better offensive lines in the game. Early on, the 49'ers may have issues on defense.

4. Carolina - I wouldn't argue this one. Their front seven is nasty and even with Mankins the Bucs have a crappy offensive line.

5. Cardinals - Same as the 49'ers - They lost their top DT/DE and their top two linebackers, not to mention TM may not play at Safety in week one. I'm not a fan of Mathews, and he is likely someone's RB2/RB3, so that's about what you should expect in production. lol

Thx for the heads up!

I'll pull AP out of my starting lineup and replace him with Jacquizz Rodgers right away.

not the point of this....just a discussion topic

i dont understand that reference

A tiger is a fearsome beast. But a tiger made out of paper is just paper. When it attacks you its just flimsy and crumples, so when you run into it, it will do the same. He is saying the niners are feared like a tiger would be, but he thinks they will be soft on defense in reality. Hence, a paper tiger.
